It was around 8 the next morning when Steve went and knocked on peggys door "come in" she said quietly. "Hey how are you feeling" he said softly as he walked in and closed the door behind him. She smiled "better it's still quite sore though" she carefully lifted up her top to show him her bullet wound on her left side. "Oh Peggy I'm so sorry" Peggy let out a little chuckle "and why are you sorry, also don't just stand there" she sat up in her bed leaning her head against the headboard, "take a seat" she pointed to the end of the bed. Steve sat down gently and put his hand on her leg on top of the covers. Peggy blushes at this small thing that was just a touch of comfort, but Steve saw her reaction and giggled. "What?" She said with a turn of a head, Steve smiled "you blushed peg..." she went even redder "I-uh no I didn't" Steve smiled more "alright if you say so".
"Can I ask you something" he said quietly with a shaky voice. "Of course, what is it?" She said sweetly, "would you want to go dancing with me?" He said trying really hard not to make eye contact. Peggy blushed and looked down "uh steve we... we are in the middle of the war there isn't really time for dancing- I, I'm so sorry" she said sadly. Steve slowly got up. "Al-alright I should let you go I don't want to annoy you", Peggy tried standing up... "captain wait, come here for a second please don't go" he turned around "what's up" Peggy showed no emotion "come here". He did as she said and walked towards her "crouch down" again he did as she said and crouched down. She smiled at him and stroked his cheek brought their faces together and softly kissed him.
Steve kissed her back and pulled back slowly in shock. "Wow..." Steve said, Peggy chuckled and smiled "are you okay?" Steve was red in the face "uh yea, you-you kissed me" he said with a bright smile on his face "I did" she said with a chuckle. Steve leaned forward and whispers "can I give you another?" Peggy nodded he brought her face closer to his and kissed her deeply. She wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled in the kiss and pulled back. "I'm sorry but how have all this time in the military have you never had a girlfriend?" Steve smiled "I was waiting for the right partner" Peggy blushed "am I the right one?" Steve smiled "maybe..."
