(slight flashback -still at the party, but before kenma came in to give y'all context of what happened between hinata and kags)

I found an empty room and went in, closing the door.

I need to apologise to Hinata.
I had been looking for him for a while since Tsukishima went off to find Yamaguchi, and I assume Hinata went off the find that Nekoma setter.

What do I even say to him?

I don't want to be awkward. I'm the worst at apologies- but this will make the tension in volleyball to disappear, then maybe we'll actually be able to win our match.

This is all my fault... if I had just kept my thoughts to myself, I wouldn't have yelled at him and everyone wouldn't have hated me.  Then we would all be able to concentrate. Then we wouldn't have lost...
-
Thoughts like these swirled around in Kageyama's mind as he sat on the floor in the dark, head in his hands. He slouched, putting his back to the wall and sinking downwards. He just wanted to disappear.

Turning to his left, the boy saw a slightly opened drawer- filled to the brim with glistening alcohol bottles.
'Secret drink stash eh?', He thought to himself and chuckled.

He browsed through the drawer and picked out the ones with the highest alcohol content, before closing the drawer and setting the drinks beside him.

Being a first-year, Kageyama never got properly drunk, he was always being watched over so it was made sure that he never drank a lot. But now... now he was alone in the darkness. No one would tell him what he could and could not do.

He unscrewed the lids of the three bottles and took a swig from each, throat scorching from the bitter sensation than trailed down his insides.
'This one tastes the best', He mentally noted and pushed the other bottles to the side before chugging almost the entire bottle of vodka.

The liquid that ran down the inside of his throat felt deadly, as if a million needles were pricking his flesh. He shook it off and sat there silently.
'I don't feel anything... Did I not drink enough?' He asked himself.
He set the bottle down and groaned at his attempt to loosen up.
-
I tried to stand but immediately fell back down. "What the fuck?" I asked to no one in particular as I tried to stand up yet again. Instantly, I felt a force pulling me back down and my body collapsed on itself.

Why can't I stand up?

I crawled to the other side of the room, next to a radiator and held onto it, trying to stand again but I failed and hit my head on the cold metal.

"Fuckkkk that hurt!" I moaned, sinking back onto the floor.
I rubbed the back of my head and felt as if all the blood in my body was being stored there, swirling around in my head, making me feel funny.

I began to feel unsettled and dizzy. Everything was spinning.

Am I dying? Or am I just drunk? ...is this what being drunk feels like? Why am I even here again? Oh yeah Hinata... I should go and find him.

Forgetting the fact that I couldn't stand up, I made another attempt to do so and immediately fell.

Fuck

I pulled out my phone and scrolled to the contact number "The tangerine" and pressed call.

I should've done this in the first place.

A few rings after, he picked up.
"Kageyama?" he answered
"Come to the room. Up. Stairs..." I replied.
"Where? There are loads of rooms upstairs." he asked.
"Bokeeeee! The... dark room. With the drawer... anddd radiator. Come now!" I yelled.
"Okay okay one moment." he replied.

I ended the call.
Boke.
-
Soon enough Hinata walked into the room and eyes widened when he spotted the setter.

"Kageyama..." the smaller boy started.
The raven-haired boy just looked at him.
"Are you drunk?" he asked.
"Boke! I wanted to say sorryy." Kageyama slurred. He patted the spot next to him and said, "Sit."

The middle-blocker was hesitant but silently walked over to his teammate and sat down next to him, crossing his legs.
Kageyama was also silent but then grabbed the bottle next to him and finished the rest of its contents.

"Stop drinking that!" Hinata complained, "You're drunk enough!"
"Don't tell me what to do boke!" Kageyama snarled.
"I thought you asked me here to apologise but since you don't seem to plan on doing that I'll leave you be." Hinata sighed disappointedly, before beginning to stand up.

"Oi!" Kageyama yelled, grabbing Hinata's wrist aggressively. He pulled the smaller boy back down, and the redhead fell into his lap.
"Um..." the redhead started awkwardly, trying to get off of Kageyama. But Kageyama held onto the boy's waist, restricting his movement.

"Kageyama... let go of me." the boy said, struggling.
"I wanted to talk to youuuu." Kageyama replied, wrapping his arm around Hinata's stomach, swivelling him around so that he could see half of the boys face.

"You have a pretty facee!" Kageyama said, as if surprised.
Hinata felt a rise in Kageyama and realised that the setter was erect- because of him.

Hinata froze, taking in what Kageyama just said, realising the situation he was in and immediately felt uncomfortable.
"No wonder why that Nekoma boy likes you." the setter continued to speak, digging his nails into the smaller boys sides with one hand, and stroking his thigh with the other.
"Kageyama stop! You're hurting me!" Hinata cried out.

Hinata pulled Kageyama's fingers up, releasing the taller boys grip on him and immediately broke out of his tight embrace.
He lifted up his shirt slightly, checking his skin for marks.

"Getting undressed for me are we?" Kageyama laughed dumbly.
"N- no..." Hinata stuttered, glaring at the other boy before falling silent.
"I'm leaving." He spoke up again.
"Don't go!" Kageyama called to him, "I really did want to say sorry."
"Sure you did." the smaller boy responded sharply, opening the door.

"Please. I didn't mean to hurt you. The only thing I'm good at is volleyball, but it's a team sport... so I have to be good with... people. I know everyone says I'm self-centered; even Daichi said it. I'll leave the team if it makes you feel better." Kageyama blurted out all at once, making the redhead stop in his tracks.
"Why would you even suggest that? We need you on the team." the boy exclaimed, turning back to Kageyama who was still sat on the floor.

"No one actually needs me." Kageyama began, "There's Sugawara, who's constantly on the bench because of me. If I wasn't there then he would be able to play all the time."
"Sugawara-senpai still plays in matches. Of course we need you! You're the King!" Hinata assured him.

Kageyama just put his head in his hands and groaned.
"Are you okay?" the smaller boy asked, walking slightly closer to him, but not close enough for what just happened to happen again. Hinata then sat on Bokuto's parents bed and began to clasp and unclasp his fingers together nervously.

"You always look for the good in people even when they don't deserve it!" Kageyama yelled frustratedly.
"So what? You don't want me to accept your apology now?!" Hinata yelled back, looking the setter in the eye.
"I didn't say that! This is how people are gonna use you for what they want dumbass!"
"I've told you to stop calling me that! What makes you think people are gonna use me? You really don't trust anyone do you?!"
"STOP. FUCKING. TALKING." Kageyama growled, finally meeting the shorter boy's eye.

The door opened.
"Shoyō... are you okay?" a voice said.

It was the Nekoma boy.
