Leo sat with Fili as he played with her hands, her back against his chest. He wiggled her fingers and ran his thumb over them.

"How do you carry a thing with these? They seem quite impractical."

"You know, you're right. I'll trade them in for bigger ones first chance I get." Leo spoke sarcastically.

Fili rolled his eyes. "I love them. I just meant they're little."

"And you smell,"

"What does that have to do with anything?"

"I thought we were saying obvious things."

"She got you with that one! This is why I like her!" Kili called out.

"You smell too!" Leo shouted with a grin.

There was a small silence before Kili spoke again. "Nevermind, Fili. Find another one I don't like her anymore." Through the faked hurt tone, she could hear the cheeky smile in his voice.

All of the dwarves smiled at the banter between their youngest members, trying their best to keep their minds off the obvious need for escape. Despite his playful exterior, Fili had a pit of worry in his stomach. Leo could tell he was anxious based on how tense he felt. She turned her body around to rest her face against his neck and hug him. "It will be ok. Bilbo is still out there."

"How do you know? He just suddenly vanished. For all we know he could have been taken by the spiders." Fili quickly realized he should not have said that to her. "I'm sorry I didn't mean - "

"No, I understand. Bilbo is very smart and quick. The same thing happened in goblin town, didn't it? He disappeared and reappeared unscathed?" Fili nodded. "He's still out there. We haven't lost all hope yet, trust me."

Close to an hour passed as the dwarves no longer shouted or bashed the door but instead, they rested and pondered on a way to get out. They were all starting to lose hope - even Leo.

Bofur stared up at the ceiling of his cell and sighed. "I'll wager the sun in on the rise. Must be nearly dawn."

"We're never gonna reach the mountain, are we?" Ori spoke defeatedly.

"Not stuck in here you're not." A voice spoke followed by the rattling of keys. Leo jumped to her feet as she distinctly recognized that voice.

"Bilbo!" The dwarves shouted joyfully.

"Shh! There are guards nearby!" Bilbo ran from cell to cell unlocking them, starting with Thorin. The dwarves began to quietly whisper to one another as they looked around for a place to escape the dungeon.

Bilbo ran to Fili's cell where he saw him as well as Leo. He gave a confused glance before unlocking it. Leo threw her arms around Bilbo for a quick hug before he glanced at her. "Oh, I found this." Bilbo handed her her axe with the harness wrapped around the hilt. "Couple of the elves were using it as a dart." She grinned at him appreciatively. Before Bilbo continued he turned to her once more. "You slapped the King?"
