Fili's POV:

The hike to the troll cave took roughly 30 minutes as we had to climb up many rocks and hills. My arms started to get a bit weak from carrying Leo but I wanted to hold onto her for as long as I could. Kili graciously offered to carry her stuff as well as my stuff for me - considering I kind of already had a backpack on.

We made it to the entrance of the cave and everyone began rummaging around through the many chests and bins. I watched, for the time being, since I wanted to make sure Leo got to rest as much as possible.

"Aye, lad. Wake her up and let's see if we can find her a weapon." Dwalin suggested as he gauged the weights of several axes and swords.

I turned my head towards the shoulder she was rested on to wake her. I found myself caught up with just looking at her instead. Her face was turned towards mine so I could see every detail. She had fairly long and dark eyelashes and many light freckles over her naturally pink cheeks. I noticed a small scar above her left eyebrow - I wonder where that came from. I noticed her little nose flaring with every breath and occasionally twitching when one of my hairs would sweep past it.

The clanking of weapons snapped me back to reality. I gently shook her a bit. "Leo, dear," I spoke softly, I didn't want to startle her. She started to stir a bit.

Kili stood behind me and watched her. He pursed his lips. "She's taking too long." He grabbed her ear and yanked it. Her head shot up and her breathing sped up.

"Kili!" I was livid. I sput around and kicked him square in the stomach, causing him to fall against the wall with a grunt.

"Ooh, ow."

"You arse."

I looked back to see that Leo has calmed down, she still seems a bit lethargic but she patted my shoulder to tell me she wanted down. I gently lowered her to her feet and she looked at Kili. He grinned at her.

"Leo! Come 'ere, lass." Dwalin called. She shuffled over to him.

Leo's POV:

I rubbed my ear after the yank from Kili. How rude. I think I actually got a pretty good little nap on Fili's back considering I feel a bit more alive than I have in a while.

Dwalin stared down at me for a moment in thought, then reached back down into the bin of weapons and began to rummage again. It was only now that I identified the atrocious smell. I scrunched my nose but it did no good.

"Try this one." Dwalin handed me a fairly large battle hammer. I gripped the handle and for a moment everything was fine, then the weight ended up pulling me forward. I managed to let go of the hammer in time to catch myself. Instead of helping me, Dwalin just stared and pondered. "Perhaps that wasn't the one." He began to rummage again.

I decided I would walk around and have a look for myself. I stumbled upon Bofur and Gloin pouring gold into a hole. I raised an eyebrow at them.

"We're making a long-term deposit." I simply nodded and moved deeper into the cave.
