I hadn't realized how strong Andrew was. I know Andrew has super strength but still. When we had practiced battling Andrew didn't seem to be holding back. I don't think he noticed but I almost fell over-twice. When kara battled him she won easily. Of course, she had been training for most of her life. We were heading to what my mom called her actual hide out. I didn't know she had that in our basement   Let alone a hideout.  As  I got In my mom's car and buckled my seat belt, moving my legs to let Kara and Andrew in, I looked out my window and started thinking, 'My dream. Why was it so weird? There were numbers..... Ones and Zeros. It was like I was walking on a path but all I saw was black ground and green numbers floating in the air. I sat up in the chair even though I was sitting pretty straight. 'Wait, that's a computer language..... Should I tell someone?' I looked at my friends, they seemed to be thinking to. 'Umm, no, I'll wait. I don't think It's very important.'
"Hey mom?" I asked.
"Yeah?" My mom answered looking into the rear view mirror.
"Where exactly is this hideout of yours?"
"About five miles," she focused her attention back on the road
"Ok," I looked at Andrew wondering what he was thinking about. He rested bis arm on his arm rest with his head on his hand. His hand went through his long and slightly messy hair. His light blue eyes had two darker blue specs in them. They sparkled in the light. I could see Andrew's reflection in the window. His blue under armor shirt reflected the most. The shirt had only a couple wrinkles on the sleeves and bottom of his shirt. He was also wearing black nike sweatpants but you couldn't see much below his waist if you looked at the window. I turned my attention to outside and noticed that there where s couple of buildings we paced but now there was none.
"Are we there?" Kara asked reading my mind.
"Yeah almost. Just a minute or two," My mom answered.
"Ok," I looked back at the window trying not to get bored. Next to Andrew's reflection I saw myself. I saw my long hair that goes halfway down my back. My hair is brown but it looked darker in the window. I had my hair in a french braid. Sometimes It gets caught on my earnings. I had two ear piercings on both ears. I was also wearing my favorite shirts. It was a light pink shirt that fell off my shoulder but only if I leaned over. It had a blue flower on the right side . My pants were Sea green leggings.
"We're here," My mom said snapping me out of  my faze. She opened the front and got out. I opened my door then waited for Andrew and Kara to get out.  I caught up to my mom then said, "So, where is it? I don't see anything but grass and weeds."
"Over there," My mom pointed to the right. All I saw was land. It was pretty hot out even some of the plants agreed. There was a couple flowers and grass that were either lopsided or yellow.
"What do you mean?" I asked, looking hard at where she pointing hoping it would do something.
"Here," My mom walked forward, "I'll show you." My mom started running then stopped when her foot hit something. I saw a ripple go through that air.
"What was that?" I asked.
"A invisibility shield."
"How do you get in?" Kara asked.
"This," My mom took out a dagger and slashed it into the ground in front pf her. It didn't look like it took a lot of strength to get it into the ground. There must have been a hole in the shape of a rectangle there. My mom turned the dagger to the right one eighty then back like a key. I looked up and saw a brown door nob. It must have been connected to a door because my mom opened it like a door.
"Children first," My mom said holding her right arm out gesturing to the building.
"Mom! We're not children. We're teens.", I told my mom, walking into the place. It wasn't exactly a building but also not a tent. There was floor to the left that held two racks of weapons on the two sides and shields and armor on the other two sides. The floor looked about a hundred feet long. To the far right there were there tents. Two of the were smaller then the other. In front of the tents, to the right of the door, were two picnic tables.
"What's this?" I turned to my mom but she was looking somewhere else.
"This is the invisible hideout," I heard Andrew's dad say from behind me. I turned around and saw him. He had a red baseball cap on with a fray t-shirt and slightly to big black sweatpants. Then Karas dad came out of one of the smaller tents.
"Ok...." Kara said looking around, "But it doesn't look super awesome."
"Offense taken," Her dad said smiling, "That's where we practiced, ate, and that's were we slept," He finished pointing to each spot.
"Ok.. It looks pretty cool," Kara said causing my mom to smile.
"Thank you."
"Oh! And the temperature is always warm because of the barrier," My dad said excited about the technology.
"Cool," Andrew said.
"So, do you guys want to start practicing your powers? Or are you just going to say there all day," Andrews dad teased.
"What?! Of course we're going to practice," Andrew said walking forward.
"Yeah, but where?" Kara asked.
"Over here," Andrew's dad pointed to the spot with tan wood floor and walked over to it. He looked above him and I saw a a piece of wood the same color of the floor in the air. There was nothing connecting it that I could see of. Andrew's dad ducked and walked into the battle area.
"Why'd you duck?" Andrew wondered.
"There's another invisibility shield just with out a door and we use that to know where the space is. The shield's here so nothing will hurt anyone or thing that is outside of this area. It also has a function were if someone used fire power it can spray water if you need it to."
"Cool," Andrew said walking into the room. Kara walked in after him with me behind her.
"So when should we start?"  Kara asked taking a sword out of the rack. They had a gold handle and a silver blade. I picked up a sword and ran my thumb on the smooth side.
"I think you guys should learn hand to hand combat or karate," Kara's dad said.
"Ok," Andrew said shrugging. Andrew put his left hand into a fist and put it I'm front of his face right below his eyes then did the same with his right hand. He crouched a little and spread his legs further apart making sure if someone tried to push him he wouldn't fall.
"Ok," Kara said then stood similarly to Andrew after she put the sword back.
"Tell us when," Andrew said to our parents staring at Kara.
"Ok," My mom said.
"Go!" My dad yelled.
Andrew moved back and forth in a straight line then out of no were he threw a punch at Karas chest. We had put on armor vests before hand so he couldn't really hurt her not that it would mater. Kara moved a hole second before hand so Andrews are just pushed him forward a little before he fixed his stance. Then while he was distracted Kara three a punch at Andrews chest but unlike Andrew she didn't miss. They punched back and forth for about ten minutes or so. Andrew seemed to have a bruise or two but I figured it would go away quickly. I had been leaning against the wall with my knee on the wall and my arms crossed.
"So, who won?" I asked when it looked like they were done.
"Me," they both said.
"No me," they said again.
"No, I said it first," Kara argued.
"Ugh, fine," Andrew walked toward me then rolled his eyes. I smiled.
"You did good," I told him.
"Thanks," He smiled.
"So my turn?" I asked walking towards Kara. I hadn't done a ton of combat training but I think I could do pretty good.
"Sure," Kara said. She fixed her position looking fierce and kind of scary to be honest. We started fighting when my mom said to go. I punched her and my hair went into my face, I missed a couple of times then decided I was going to try kicking. I don't know why no one had kicked but I side kicked Kara hitting her side. She seemed slightly shocked but then went back to punching me without really missing. I kept getting annoyed at my hair. I had it up into a pony tail but there was strands that came loose and went in front of my face. I guess I got a little jealous when I noticed that Kara's hair wasn't in her face. It wasn't even out of her low ponytail! I tried to use that slight jealousy to punch and kick instead though. I used a front kick, punched her up high and lower and I got slightly better because I was starting to not miss. I tried to learn how Kara punched and kicked so I could now what she would do. We finished both sweaty and tired but I smiled.
"Wow, you're good," I said. My jealousy had went away. I wiped a piece of sweat of my forehead.
"Yeah, I know. But thanks."
"You're welcome," I was almost positive that Kara had won but I didn't want to bring it up and possibly get embarrassed.
"Woah, you guys are a lot better than I thought you would be," Andrews dad said. I turned around and found him standing next to Andrew outside of the battle area. I went to him and said, "Thanks."
"Thanks," Andrew and Kara both said after. We were all really worn out so we decided to talk for a little then keep training. We sat down a bench closest to the tents. Me and Andrew sat on one side and Kara was sat on the other.
"Wow, that went by quick," Andrew said looking up. There wasn't really any ceiling so we could see the sky. It was already starting to get the dark. The sun must have started to set a couple minutes ago.
"Yeah," I replied.
"So, what now?"
"Do we have any new information about Jake or something?" Kara asked.
'Do I? What about my dream. Ohh... I bet I can decipher the ones and zeros,' I thought.
"I had a dream," I said.
"People tend to have dreams," Andrew said.
I shook my head, "Yeah, I know but It was different. In the dream I was walking on white floor and everything else above was black," I paused.
"Yeah?" Kara asked.
"There was green ones and zeros. They might mean something. I.. Might be able to decipher them."
"So can you?" Kara asked. Her hands were leaning on the table.
"I think. I know it was binary code. I never actually took much classes for binary code but I have a coding power so I think I could figure it out."
"Do you remember the order of the numbers?" Andrew wondered. I closed my eyes and tried to remember the numbers. As I looked at all the ones and zeros they moved and flipped and slid. I knew what it said. I opened my eyes after I read it and saw Andrew and Kara staring at me.
"What?"
""You- You were concentrating so hard. It's like I could see you thinking," Andrew said.
"Oh."
"So, what did it say?" Kara asked.
"It said, 'Defeat Jake and there won't be a war. He has an army but you're stronger. Go to Collins road then fight. You will know what to do when you get there."
"Oh, ok, So we have to go there. Were ever Collins road is," Kara said.
"Yeah, Also did you know one number in binary code is one character in english. Even the space is included," I said. I don't know why I said it, it just popped into my head and I said it.
"No," Kara said.
"Cool," Andrew replied.
"Thanks," I looked at the tents, "I guess we should go tell our parents."
"Ok," Kara said getting up.
