We got of the picnic table and walked over to our parents to tell them about Sky's dream and to keep practicing. They were in the biggest tent so we walked into it.
"Oh, hey," Andrew's dad said when he realized we came in.
"Hi dad," Andrew said.
"We know what to do," Sky said quickly.
"What do you mean?" Mrs. Burts asked.
"Yesterday, I had a dream...." Sky told our parents what she told us.
"Well then we shouls go then," Dad said appearing in the end of the tent probably had been using his invisibility power.
"No. They have to practice more," Mrs. Burts said crossing her arms.
"What about after?" He stood up.
"I guess so. It might end up being tomorrow though.
He shrugged then said, "Ok."
"Cool," Andrew said.
"Let's train then," Andrew's dad, Mr. Depner said walking out of the tent and onto the battle area.
"Ok," Sky said. We all walked onto the practice field.
"Ok, This time you CAN use your powers," Mrs. Burts instructed us emphasizing the word can.
"Except this time you guys will fight us," Mr. Depner added.
"But... That'll be unfair," Sky said.
"Maybe, but it'll make you stronger. And it's not like we're going to kill you."
"Okay... In that case WE will beat YOU," Andrew said. Mrs. Burts then said the rules, "Don't if someone can't fight for more than ten seconds that person is out."
"K, Can we start? I want to beat you," Andrew said wanting to start. Me, Andrew, and Sky stood in front near the door in a line and our parents were at the other side.
"Yeah, but we're going to beat you," Sky's mom said then ran to us holding out her sword that she had lit on fire. I rushed toward her turning invisible so she wouldn't know where I was then slashed my sword against hers and turned visible. She seem a little confused and shocked but her expression turned into something else a second after, determination. She swung her sword to another spot and I stoped it just in time. I could feel the heat from her blade but I tried to ignore it. I saw from the corner of my eyes that Andrew was fighting my dad and Sky was fighting Mr. Depner. Andrew was using his strength to have a advantage on my dad but so did my dad. Whenever Andrew used his super strength to hit my dad really hard my dad would turn invisible and move. And Mr. Depner seemed to be using his super strength to defend him which made it hard for Sky to hit him. After an hour or so me, Andrew, and Sky were a lot more tired and worn out and tired than our parents. Sky had lost against Mr. Depner because his super strength made made him a LOT stronger than her. Andrew how who was using his super strength to hit my dad eventually figured out a smarter way to use his super strength. So in the end Andrew won. With me and Mrs. Burts it was a tie most of the time but by the end it seemed like Mrs. Burts would win and she did. Mr. Burts had sat out this battle to do some coding with the information Sky had given us.
"Good battle," My dad said.
"Thanks, Sky replied. We pit our weapons and armor back on the racks then walked over to the picnic table Mr. Burts was sitting at. His face looked as if he was about to have a boulder crush onto him and he had five seconds to think of something to to, panic.
"What?" Sky asked worried.
"You can't go there," Mr. Burts said shaking his head.
"Why? Where?"
"It's not safe."
"Dad, We're not five we're fifteen, well actually Kara's Sixteen." He gave her a pleasing look.
"Well..." He shook his head again worried, "No, doesn't matter. We almost got killed." I saw my dad's eyes, who standing behind Mr.Burt's, grow big.
"That place?" My dad stared at Mr. Burts.
'What are they talking about?! It's killing me not knowing.' I thought.
They looked like they somehow were talking to each other through there minds.
"Yes," Mr. Burts responded.
I saw Andrew step in front of me then he said, "Ugh! Would you please tell us already? Maybe we'll go, maybe we won't." He looked annoyed. I haven't seen him annoyed yet but I agreed.
"Yeah, you're killing me. I need to know," I said calmer than Andrew did. I caught out of the corner of my right eyes, Sky nodding.
"Woah," Mr. Depner put up his hands, "Ok, We'll tell you."
"Thank you," Andrew said sitting on the other side of the table as Mr. Burts. Me and Sky sat next to him. I haven't known them for too long but they're both really nice and caring. I could tell that Andrew and Sky liked each other but they didn't want to say anything though from there faces every time they looked at each other i could tell that they had said something to each other. Me and Sky had a lot of similarities like we're both fast, we both love cats and dogs equally but LOVE bunnies, and we're both pretty good in science class.
"You're welcome," Mr. Depner said. It looked like he was going to keep talking but Mrs. Burts, who was standing at the end of the table, said, "This is why we stopped. It's there place-hideout-base. They're slowly creating an army. It's not even on google maps or a map. Everyone-thing even that we had to and you'll have to fight is there."
"But we have to go there," Andrew said.
"Yes you do," Mrs. Burts said calmly.
"I have to-," Andrew started to ague not realizing that she agreed, "Wait? What? You're agreeing with me?" Andrew was shocked.
"Because they have to be stopped. Being scared won't help," She finished looking at Mr. Burts and my dad.
"Fine," My dad said. Mrs.Burts looked at Mr. Burts.
"What? Ok! Ok," He said.
"Good. Now, we can go over what you guys have to do."
"What you're not coming?" Sky asked.
"No into the building."
"Why?" I wondered.
"You only get one chance to defeat them. If you fail you get sent but if you try to fo back you will get punished. I bet it could even lead to death."
"And you didn't defeat them?" Andrew asked. Mrs. Burts nodded her head.
"But we can defeat them. I know it," Sly said.
"I believe in you. It's just that there's so much at stake. You could get hurt, they could destroy the world, or at least country, or you can come home safe and have beaten them. The odds aren't very much at your favor."
"Yeah, but you're the one who said not to be afraid. Sky said.
"Hey! Fine. But you have to promise to come home safe."
"Ok," We all said at almost the same time.
I could tell that she was about to speak but I had a question, "Why didn't you beat them? You have to be stronger than us."
"We got close. They're hurt now."
"Why haven't they done anything. Haven't they had like ten years to heal?"
"Yeah. We hurt them that badly. We scattered them."
"Oh."
"Yeah.... Ok, I guess I'll tell you guys what you need to know."
"K," Sky said.
"Ok," Me and Andrew said. Our parents looked at each other then got up and walked to the end of the camp, behind the tents.
"Where're you going?" Andrew asked.
Mr. Depner turned around then said, "we're getting something."
"Oh... what?" Mr.Depner didn't answer him though. Instead he kept walking and picked up something.
"What's that?" Sky asked. All of our parents were carrying something that looked like the weapons had. They were all gold - er well I think, they had a different color on the handle and a gold color on the rest. The gold part was shining. As our parents came closer I could see what they were holding. Andrews dad was holding a dagger, my dad had a shield and sword, Sky's mom had a bow and arrows and her dad had sun glasses. Mr. Depner's sword had a dark green handle, my dad's sword's edge and symbol was sky blue, Sky's mom bow was red and the tips of the arrows were also red, and lastly Mr. Burts' glasses besides the lenses were dark blue, the lenses were tinted sky blue.
"These are for you guys," My dad said looking at each of us one by one, "We used these when we were fight but now we're not and you are." They handed us the things they were holding. The back of my dad's shield had a strong strap that I could adjust to go over my back or arm. There was a whole at the top of the strap big enough to fit all my fingers besides my thumb to make it more secure. I put it on. It fit. I smiled and looked at my dad.
"Thanks," I said.
"You're welcome," my dad responded. I looked over to Andrew and Sky. We had gotten up and stood in a line, me, Andrew, then Sky. Andrews sword looked like a normal but I got a feeling it was connected to his super strength. Sky had but the arrows, they were in this bag, over her shoulder and was looking at the bow. She put the glasses in her pocket. It had a gold string looked thin and break able and I think that's what Sky thought so she pulled on the string making it bounce a little but it didn't break it just went back to the straight position it had been in. The she put away the bow i the bag and put on the glasses.
"Woah," She said sounding shocked.
"What?" I wondered.
"There's so much words, things."
"What do you mean?" Andrew asked.
"Well when I looked at something a bunch of information shows up. There's a couple things that aren't moving. It says the time, dat, day, temperature, place, my name, a small picture of a magnify glass, oh there's modes." She paused clicking something in front of her.
"Woah, I can't see anything," She thought about it, "Ohh. Bet that's because it's night vision." She mumbled to herself but she had all of our attention. She clicked something else then jumped.
"What?" He mom asked.
"There's a voice telling me things," She answered, "These are solar paneled?" She touched the temple piece of the glasses, probably where the solar panel part is.
"Yup," Mr. Burks responded.
"Cool," She took them off her and put them back in her pocket. Her brown hair flew onto her face and she pushed it away as quickly as it fell.
"Ok, now that we handed you guys those things we need to go. We have to get there before the sun gets behind the front of the building."
"Well, how long do we have?" I asked.
"Umm, about three and a half hours."
"Let's go then," Andrew said.
"Ok, let's take your jeep, Tom," Sky's mom said to my dad. We walked out of the camp. I looked around. I didn't see anything besides grass, a couple of trees and the road we took. The road ended about a mile in front of the place so we had to walk through the grass.
"Where's your car dad?" I asked.
"Over there," He pointed his right hand to the left were the grass was slightly lower and I could see tire marks but no car. He was holding his keys in his hand. He clicked it and I heard and beep and saw a red light.
"It's covered in an invisible tarp," He said.
"Oh."
"What's up with you guys and all this invisibility?" Andrew asked.
They just shrugged and started walking to were the beep had came from. When we got closer he unlocked the car again probably to know exactly where the car was. The front lights glowed read again but looked faded probably from the tarp. Dad reached the car and gripped the tarp near the front of his car and pulled it off. Finally we could see the car. It was dark red with black outlines. He opened the front door and hoped onto his seat.
"I call shot gun," Mr. Burts said racing to the passengers seat.
"Dad, barely anyone says shotgun anymore," Sky told him. Dad's car almost didn't fit us but we worked it out. Me, Sky, and Andrew sat in the back and Mrs, Burts and Mr. Depner sat in the middle but on the floor behind My dad and Mr. Burts.
"I do though," Mr. Burts said. Sky simply shook her head.
"Let's go, and hope not to be dead, Andrew tried to sing to be funning. Surprisingly he almost sounded good. Almost.
