I looked at our framed picture on the side. It's our first photo on our first date, taken by our friends on a few distance. We didn't know they were watching us that time.
We ordered burger and soda for each. As we were eating our burger, he suddenly cracked a joke.
"Anong sabi ni mommy donut kay baby donut nung umakyat siya sa puno?"
I looked at him and smiled after taking a bite. I sip on my soda before answering him.
"Ano?"
"Anak, baka mahulog ka, bavarian!" As soon as he said that I laugh.
The way he said it and the joke itself is so funny! He laugh as well while staring at me. Okay, it's my turn. I cleared my throat before speaking.
"My turn, anong sabi ni baby rubber band kay mommy rubber band nung nagrerace sila?" I wanna laugh already pero pinipigilan ko lang.
"Ano?"
"Go Ma!" I said, even raised my hand like I'm really cheering someone.
He burst out laughing kaya naman napatawa na rin ako. We were just on our little bubble, laughing, forgetting there are people around us.
Then he slowly stop, drying his eyes from tearing up a little because of too much laugh. Uminom naman ako ng soda kasi nakakadry din siya ng throat. As I was drinking he spoke.
"Totoo pala yung kanta."
I took a bite sa burger bago tumingin sa kanya. He's staring at me na medyo ikinahiya ko.
"A-anong kanta?" Nauutal kong tanong. I cannot directly look at his eyes!
He smiled while still staring directly at my eyes. Omg! He's stare is so intense! Then he sang that made me more nervous.
"Alam mo ang ganda mo pala..
Pag tumawa ang 'yong mata.."
OMG! OMG! HE WAS STARING AT ME WHILE SINGING THAT AND HE LOOK SO HANDSOME! HE EVEN SMILED AGAIN!
"Stop!" I said shyly. Napayuko na lang ako at kunwaring inuubos ang burger ko. I heard his hearty laugh. That laugh na hindi nang-aasar pero tunog na-a-amuse.
I slowly looked up to him. I met his eyes which caught me off guard. I grabbed the soda and sip from it.
"Cute." He mumbled that I heard. Made my cheeks more red and hot!
He grabbed a tissue and leaned over. My eyes grew wide when he wipe the side of my lips with the tissue paper.
"You have a mayo on the side of your lips." He said so casual like we've done this before! Gosh this guy! Mamamatay ata ako sa kilig ng wala sa oras!
"Hey, sweet, what are you doing?" I smiled as I heard my husband.
I felt his arms circling around my waist. His face nuzzling between my neck and shoulder.
"Reminiscing our first date." I answered and chuckled.
Hinawakan ko ang kamay niya sa bewang ko. I felt him smiled on my neck. Then he showered me with kisses.
"I missed that time. You were so cute and shy and I just wanna protect you with all the bad people that will come near you."
I turned my face on him. Made him look at me. We stared at each other for a while.
"But you became tough. You can definitely fight for your own now. Though I'll still be by your side. I know you will win every battle." He caress my cheek, pit some lose strands of hair on the back of my ear.
"I love you so much. I won't be like this without you." I said softly.
"Yeah right. I hurt you so many times. I'm so thankful you still choose me." He rolled his eyes.
I laugh a little. He's been hating himself for hurting me the past years. Yeah it was painful and all but it's worth it. It's not like he hurt me intentionally that's why I still forgave him.
"Love, you didn't hurt me intentionally! Plus it's a good thing now. It teach both of us a lesson. Now answer my I love you!" I demanded that made him chuckle.
"I love you so much, my sweet. Nothing in this world can change my love for you."
"Now I want you to sing the song you sang on our first date." I happily smiled when his face look a little bit contorted.
I made him sing it everyday. The thing is I only let him sing those exact two lines he sang before.
"If it wasn't for this little one, and of course because I love you, ugh!"
I kissed his cheek a lot of times while laughing. Di ko kasi siya titigalan hangga't di ako nasasatisfy. Kung kailangang kantahin niya yan buong araw hanggang makuha yung exact na timbre ng boses niya nung araw na yun. I know it's cruel but hey it's fun! Plus I'm pregnant, this is what I crave for hahaha!
