ʙʀʏɴɴᴇ [ʙ-ʀ-ɪʜ-ɴ] / ʀʏɴ [ᴘʀᴏɴᴏᴜɴᴄᴇᴅ: ʀ-ɪʜ-ɴ ᴏʀ ʀᴇɪɢɴ]

It was around noon when Alec walks into Brynne's apartment without hesitation. Alec walks to the balcony where she was watering some plants and announces, "My mother's back"

"Oh I should probably leave then," Brynne winces placing the silver watering can on the bench while turning over to look at Alec

"No, I have something else in mind," Alec states having great news to share

"We run away?" Brynne brightly answers loving the idea and already making plans in her mind 

Alec shakes his head walking over to her, "How would you feel about throwing a party?"

"A party?" Brynne asks wondering what type of party he wanted as it didn't seem to be his scene

"It is for Max's Rune Ceremony," Alec explains as his mother and brother had arrived at the Institute that morning with news and since Robert wasn't with them Alec being the eldest male was to plan the party

"Aw Max," Brynne gushes remembering the rebellious and pyromaniac Lightwood only to think about who would be invited "but ugh a room full of Shadowhunters"

"Ryn..."

Brynne walks away from Alec and into the apartment needing to be away from the hot sun making her fix her tank top straps, "I like Max really, I do, but your parents? Sure Robert seems like he doesn't hate me but Maryse she hates me"

"That's sort of the point of the party" Alec follows after her and confused Brynne turns to face him, "So that she can see that this, us, it's not going away"

Brynne was ecstatic with the explanation and places her hands on his shoulders still needed to ask, "Are you certain you want to do this?"

"Why wouldn't I be?" Alec questions making Brynne nod her head agreeing with the idea with a bright smile 

"Okay mon ange," Brynne gives leaning in for a kiss before saying her term "but we're doing this party at Magnus', after all he can throw a great party"

Brynne had persuaded Magnus to host Max's Rune Ceremony and once the invitations were made Magnus started to get excited about planning the party. It's how Brynne ended up the next day in Magnus' apartment doing her best to chime in when he'd allow it.

"Magnus!" Jace calls out from outside where he was studying old books in search for a specific demon. The five cats surrounding him were getting in the way of his research and when the door opens he is met with a female warlock

"He's planning a party," Brynne says walking out to the patio where she finds a white cat with orange lines trying to get Jace's attention

"Awe look at you lil baby, you're new" Brynne cues walking over to pick up the cat and carefully cradling the cat before using her magic to make five bowls with milk appear on the floor and she carefully places the cat she held on the floor and they all run towards the bowls. "Magnus says spoiling them is the way to win them over"

"Well, I guess when you put your mind to it, you can win over just about anyone, huh?" Jace chimes looking up from his notes a pen still in his hand

Brynne couldn't help but click her tongue as her jaw clenched, "You're talking about Alec"
