ʙʀʏɴɴᴇ [ʙ-ʀ-ɪʜ-ɴ] / ʀʏɴ [ᴘʀᴏɴᴏᴜɴᴄᴇᴅ: ʀ-ɪʜ-ɴ ᴏʀ ʀᴇɪɢɴ]

The Shadowhunters had returned to the Institute using Brynne's portal there was a quick 'goodbye' and 'thank you's' being exchanged before Alec and Clary entered the building. Jace and Isabelle had already made it to the Institute where Jace was ordering others about where they were going to be looking down the tunnels for Clary. The redhead makes her presence known and tells Jace about the demon and her getting the Cup. Right in the middle of the control room Clary and Jace shared a passionate kiss that the Lightwood siblings couldn't miss.

On that same night, Clary was able to remove the Cup from inside the tarot card sparking a conversation about what to do with the Cup. There was the idea of giving it to the Clave or keeping it as leverage in order for Clary to get back her mom. Clary gives her word that she wouldn't let the cup fall into Valentine's hold and so Alec decides to be on their side.

Since it still needed to be protected by not just being inside the tarot card Alec leads Clary to the training room where on the ground there was a rune that only opened with Alec's stele. The Cup safely hidden in the ground everyone goes back to doing what they normally do only to be quickly alerted of something trying to get past their wards making them grab their weapons and go outside.

In the midst of the foggy night past some trees, the Shadowhunters are able to see someone carrying a person in their arms.

"Don't move" Jace shouts making the person stop walking but keep his back to the Shadowhunter's

"Drop what you're holding. Put your hands up" Alec shouts as all arrows and blades were pointed at the mystery person.

From behind a tree someone they all instantly recognize figure by the flashes of electricity running up and down the warlock's body, "We came for Clary"

Raphael takes a step closer to the Shadowhunter's making everyone see that he was carrying Simon. He was dead making the Shadowhunters lower their weapons, looking at his pale stiff body Clary exclaims, "Oh, my God, Simon!"

To keep things out of the eyes of everyone, the group head to the Institute basement. Downstairs Raphael lays Simon on a table where they place a book to substitute as a pillow.

Everyone was silent until Jace speaks up having looked around at everyone, "People will be wondering what we found outside the perimeter"

"I'll go." Alec says as he stands closest to the steps looking over at the table where Clary, Jace, and Brynne were surrounded, "I'll tell them we didn't find anything. Nobody will come down here"

"I might be a vampire..." Raphael trails off looking away from the windows looking out to the ground above them showing it was still dark out, "but I was raised a good Catholic"

Seeing Raphael make the sign of the cross Isabelle says, "The Vampires breached the Accords. Killing Simon is grounds for war"

"The Vampires were not behind this. Just Camille. She attacked Simon on her own" Raphael explains making Brynne grind her teeth.

When Brynne had gotten back to Magnus' place after dropping Alec and Clary off at the Institute she had gotten a message from Raphael to meet her. Saying it was urgent and about a friend of hers made her without a second thought go to the Hotel DuMort where she found Raphael next to Simons's dead body. Brynne was smart enough to listen first instead of hurting the vampire and it's then that she learned about Camille having ordered her vampires to abduct Simon. She had fed him her blood and with her blood in his system making him hallucinate he returned to her.
