"So, you're going to be my New Year's kiss?" Elliot questioned, walking up to her boyfriend. She wrapped her arms around his waist, pressing their bodies together. "Because I haven't had one of those in a few years and I'm desperate."
Owen smirked down at Elliot, "I'll see what I can do."
It was less than 10 minutes til midnight and the couple were at a party. Well, it was more like a small get together.
Elliot and Owen were joined by Esme, Charlie, Caleigh, Tom, Savannah, and a few of the girls' friends from the high school years. The group had rented out a rooftop for the night.
"Out of everything that could've happened this year, i'm glad you were a significant part of it." Owen mumbled, gazing into Elliot's eyes.
She couldn't help but smile up at the boy, "I can't believe I'm lucky enough to be loved by you."
The two stayed in each other's arms as they awaited midnight. Elliot laid her head to rest on Owen's chest, looking around the rooftop at her friends.
Savannah and Tom were chatting away on one of the couches, just happy to be in each other's presence. Charlie and Caleigh stood at a table, smiles never leaving their faces as they were deep in conversation. Both couples holding hands as they enjoyed their time together. Elliot was happy for them, overjoyed that their show had brought them happiness like it had her.

Elliot picked her head up to face her boyfriend once more now that the countdown had started.
"9."
Owen smiled at her, getting lost in his girlfriend's eyes.

She couldn't help but think about her memories with Owen, the good and the bad.

Elliot was beyond grateful for 2019 and all the lessons it brought her.

Her heart fluttered at the sight of Owen staring into her eyes. How'd he still give her butterflies even after months of dating?

The boy had captured her heart and made her the happiest girl in the world.

Elliot moved her arms from Owen's waist to hang lazily around his neck, still gazing into his eyes.

He licked his lips as they waited for the countdown to end.

Owen's arms hooked tighter around her waist, pulling Elliot closer.

And then it happened.
Owen leaned in, pressing his lips against Elliot's with as much passion as he possibly could. There was so much behind their kiss at midnight. Neither one cared that everyone around them was yelling and cheering on the new year.
For Owen and Elliot, the only thing that mattered was each other... and they were perfectly fine with that.
