She was captivating
It was something about her beautiful tacenda
Her tone was delicate yet demanding
She was a grain of sugar in a field full of salt

Smile as sweet as honey
But words that could kill worse than venom
A heart big enough to heal the world
Yet it couldn't heal her

Her mind was powerful enough to calm violent waters
Yet it couldn't tame the tornado inside her
She was an enchantress if you will
Mesmerising everyone she passed with a single glance

She knew of the power she held
Though she never abused it
She simply floated through life
Light as a feather gliding through the wind

As if she wasn't carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders
It was an illusion she had created
No one could see past it
Because to do that you had to care about the human in the girl you saw

Not just the power she held

author's note: this is a poem I wrote a few months ago and when I was reading it back it reminded me of Iris so I thought I'd add it to the book.
