Bella's POV

We were by the river, wind blowing past us lightly as we watched the sun set. It was a beautiful scene. The bright light of the sun landing it's last moments of the day on the crystal blue river. The combination was stunning. It was even more stunning of Ryan to do something this sweet. He was a gentleman without a doubt, but doing this twice in one week was shocking.

Not that I was complaining though.

More couples holding hands passed us, waving as they strolled by. We were happy standing at little fence watching the sun set so calmly. I smiled.

I felt my phone buzzing in my pocket. It was my babysitter Haley calling me from home. "Yes Haley?"

"How do you make Mary Alice quiet? She won't stop whining," I heard my babies screams in the background.

"Haley, I already told you this before I left. Hold her at 45 degrees and shake her lightly from left to right. It works every time I promise," I giggled at Ryan, him knowing exactly what I was talking about.

"I'm not good at that," Haley said.

"Haley, I have to go. Please do anything you can, but don't kill my daughter. I trust you!" I exclaimed before hanging up, putting my phone in my pocket.

Minutes had passed and finally darkness consumed the night sky.

Ryan pointed at the Little Dipper and laughed at another set of stars that shaped a raccoon. I giggled back too. The stars were so beautiful.

Then his finger pointed to another star that shined so bright it was blinding my eyes. It was big and bright, easily outshining any other star in the sky.

"That star is so beautiful." I whispered under my breath. It was starting to get chilly, my body was starting to shake slightly. Ryan must have noticed considering he wrapped his arms around me from behind.

"It reminds me of you." I heard in my ear.

I turned my head around to face him and laughed, "I don't shine that bright."

"That star isn't even enough to explain how beautiful you are. You shine brighter than a million stars. That star stands out, like you Bella." He grinned. I ran my fingers through his silky smooth yet shaggy hair.

"It is a gorgeous night," I said, turning my face back to the stars. The moon, which happened to be full, was laid out on full display in the sky.

"It is precious," Ryan said before adding, "are you glad I took you here?"

"Yes. This is so unlike you. It may be a simple idea but I never knew it could be so..." I trailed off, thinking for a word but couldn't seem to find one.

"Breathtaking."

"Yes."

His thumb grazed my cheek. He grabbed my face with one whole hand and turned it to face him once again. His lips crashed with mine in a blissful kiss. I felt his tongue trace over my bottom lip as I turned my body around to give myself more access into touching him. I grabbed his two arms which were grasping my face and the low of my back.

This moment was so perfect. So simple yet perfect. I wanted to cherish it forever.

Ryan pulled away from the kiss, staring at me deep in the eyes. His orbs were a dark shade of brown as he continued looking into the depths of my soul.

"Bella you are absolutely without a doubt the love of my life," he said so calmly yet so aggressively as he pulled my face closer to him. "You know that right?"

"Yes I know baby," I said. His hand traveled to my hair, grabbing a section, placing his forehead to mine.

"I love you damned much there will never be any way for me to possibly explain it." He seemed so heartfelt. "So I thought I'd do it in the only way a man knows how."

In an instant, Ryan pulled away from me, reaching for something in his pocket, as he bent down on one knee.

This WASN'T happening. It seemed so unreal. The man is loved for the past two and a half years was finally doing what needed to be done long ago. My heart starting racing and memories from our relationship starting flooding through my mind.

I could see the drop or two of sweat rolling down his forehead. He knew what my answer was, but nevertheless, it was still nerve wracking. It was a life commitment.

"Bella, would you complete my soul and become my wife?" He asked, a tiny wet drop building up in his eye.

"Baby I'd say yes but I think you already knew I was going to say that," I said, breaking down into delicate sobs. He stood back up and hugged me tightly. I cried into his strong grip.

After a few moments  I looked at the ring hiding in the little felt box and it was beautiful.

"It shines bright just like that star, and... you." Ryan grabbed the ring and placed it on my left ring finger.

It was me and him forever.

Legally.
