Nicole's POV

My best friend ran into my room, her hair all out of place, panting like crazy.

"Whoa, chill!! What's wrong?" I asked.

"There's. . .Ryan, h-he. . .Man. . . Was killed. . ." She struggled to find her words, as I learned that she saw blood. And lots of it.

But, of course, I knew exactly what happened.

Ryan's my cousin. I don't actually have a crush on him. He and I have it all planned out.

He owns a casino and since Bella has needed a job for quite some time (considering that her parents don't give two shits about her) he's willing to give her a job. I mean I kinda begged him to give her a job, and eventually, he bought it. But thankfully she doesn't know Ryan is my cousin.

Though, Ryan deals with bad people, which is the only reason as to why I'm worried.

But, then again, why would anything happen to Bella? I mean she's only working at the casino. That doesn't mean that she'll be dealing with Ryan's life.

"Nicole, it was the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. . ." she cried, walking toward me to receive a hug.

"Oh Bella, I'm so sorry you had to see that," I said.

Now, Ryan having to kill people in front of her wasn't really part of the plan. I guess. . .That was just a bonus. Not a postitive bonus, more of a bonus that will warn her about what Ryan does for a living. I can tell he really did scare her though, because she's freaking out. I was freaking out too when I saw Ryan take two men's lives away.

Ryan doesn't just take innocent lives away, not without reason. He will murder people if they've done bad things, especially to him or to people he loves.

Even though that is wrong of him, and I'm still a little terrified of what he does, no one dares to mess with him. Mainly because they know what he is capable of. He is very dangerous.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"No, I can't bare to even think about it," she sobbed, wiping her hand over her nose to remove snot.

"Okay, well let's turn that frown upside down by watching our favorite movie 'Bitch Wars!!'" I yelled enthusiastically.

She laughed softly, wiping away one more tear before commenting, "Yeah, I love that movie. Especially when Holly comes out and hoes around, and we call her Katherine."

We both laughed, reciting our favorite line, "I may have slept with every guy in this town but that doesn't give everyone the right to call me a Bitch."

The rest of the night went really well, despite the fact that Bella had tears streaming down her face 40% of the time.

The next morning, though, was different.

"Bella, wake up! We have breakfast," I said, nudging her shoulder.

"BELLA!" I screamed, making her wake up. She glared at me with those eyes that seem like guns are pointed directly at your face. To be honest, it really creeps me out.

"I was in the middle of a very nice dream," she said angrily.

"Oh well too bad. Let's go to Orange Leaf, shall we?" I asked, which made her grin from ear to ear.

I mean come on, it's Orange Leaf; frozen yogurt. What's not to like?

***

After getting our frozen yogurt, we walked back to the parking lot just to run into Ryan. Well. . . I didn't run into Ryan. Bella did. Then she kinda looked up at him real awkwardly.

"I already told you to watch where you're going the first time, do I have to tell you again?" he growled. His emerald green eyes went three shades darker.

"You know, maybe YOU'RE the one who's running into me," Bella said with just as much power.

"And why would I do that?"

"I don't know, maybe because you're attracted to me?"

"Please, I'm 26 years old, I'm not attracted to some high school teenage kid," he scoffed.

He turned and looked at me. "Please Nicole, if you're suggesting someone for my work at least make it someone with a good attitude."

He looked at Bella with angry eyes once more before walking away.

"He has got to do something about his attitude, damn," Bella said.

"And what the hell did he mean about his work? And how does he know you? Give me answers, Nicole!!" she spoke.

"Let's just say I do know Ryan, and yes I kinda suggested for you to work at his casino," I laughed awkwardly.

"Mhm. Why?"

"Because you're parents don't give you any money at all," I answered.

"Oh so that gives you the right to GET ME A JOB?" she yelled.

"I didn't GIVE YOU a job, I only suggested you to Ryan. I said you had a good work ethic."

"Let's go home and I'll think about it," Bella said, taking one large bite of her frozen yogurt.

We walked back to the car and drove home silently.
