Prologue

Sophia POV

Flashback

Ughhh

Junior year sucks so much. Grades to worry, GPA, my rank, SAT, and even community service hours. I'm so tired of school I need a break. I need to go to my favorite little bookstore because that's the place I like to relax

I walked to the little bookstore in the corner. I was very cozy and has a nice smell of candles to it. I walked around to find my favorite book when I noticed it's all at the top. I huffed and went on my tippy toes to grab it but someone grabbed it

"Hey I was-"

I was stopped by seeing this tall beautiful woman standing next to me holding my book

She looks intimidating and scary so I decided to let it go

"Never mind" I said awkwardly

I wonder off around the store to find something else. I saw a suspicious looking female with a hat on and I saw her putting a book inside her bag.

Is she stealing? Nah maybe she just bought it and putting it in her bag right?

I found nothing in this shop so I went outside and walked home when I saw a person ran past by me being chased

I wonder what's that about

I continue to walk

"Are you proud of yourself?" I heard someone

I stopped walking and turn around to see that same intimidating tall woman from the bookshop. I looked around to see if she was talking to someone else

"Are you talking to me?" I asked her

She had her arms crossed and was standing straight

"Who else? You're the only one near me" She said sternly

What's wrong with this woman

"I'm sorry what's-"

She grabbed my bag and pour everything out

"What are you doing?!" I said "Where's the book you stole?" She said "What book!" I said getting confused.

"Why would you steal books?" We both heard and turned our heads. It was the girl with the hat that I saw in the bookstore.

"Stealing books is also stealing and that's a crime. You have to come with us" An officer said

So maybe I was right, she was stealing books

"Oh..." The tall woman said and began to walk away without even apologizing

Uh who does this woman think she is

"You're not going to apologize?" I said picking up my stuff she poured out of my backpack and put them back

"About?" She said and I rolled my eyes

This lady is so complicated

I stood up and dust my pants

"Hey! Stay still! Come back!" I look up and saw that woman running away from the officers. She pushed and bumped into me and I lost my balance

I felt a body behind me catching me

I felt an arm around my hip preventing me from falling

I look up and saw that beautiful woman. We were staring into each other until I got off from her body. "T-Thanks" I felt my blush coming in.

Stupid me

"What's your name?" She said

"Sophia, you?"

"Gal" She smirked

And at that moment I would've never thought what happens next....
