The next few days were horrendous for Gyda. She wasn't even fazed that the killer called. The exchange student just numbly answered the questions before hanging up and spending her free time locked in her room, spacing out with all the memories with Casey in them. How terribly guilty she felt for the last few days of having fun. The Aussie even went to the beach and got sunburnt.
The white-haired female somehow completely avoided all of her friends too. She was trying to push them away so they wouldn't get harmed because of the deal she made with the killer. The exchange student even went to call home to end the year, but didn't want to ruin the other kid's experience in Australia.
Gyda was snapped out of her thoughts as the cellphone began to ring. Without much thought, she accepted the call, not bothered to look at the number. She wasn't one to remember numbers in the first place. "𝙷𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚘?" The relieved sigh on the other end of the phone seemed to startle Gyda from her trance. " 𝙱𝚒𝚕𝚕𝚢?"
"𝙳𝚘𝚗'𝚝 𝚒𝚐𝚗𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚖𝚎, 𝚙𝚕𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚎. 𝙸 𝚍𝚘𝚗'𝚝 𝚠𝚊𝚗𝚝 𝚝𝚘 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚋𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚔 𝚒𝚗 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚑𝚘𝚞𝚜𝚎, 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚔𝚗𝚘𝚠. 𝙸'𝚟𝚎 𝚋𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚘𝚞𝚝𝚜𝚒𝚍𝚎 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚕𝚊𝚜𝚝 𝚝𝚎𝚗 𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚞𝚝𝚎𝚜." The Australian exchange student could only meekly step off of her bed and look out her window to the front steps to see that Billy was indeed outside waiting with a cellphone pressed against his ear. "𝙷𝚘𝚕𝚍 𝚘𝚗," Gyda murmured, hanging up.
She began to crawl her way to the door, trying to think of ways to get the boy off of her porch and away from her. She reached the door, and Billy immediately moved forward and pushed her in for a hug. "Please don't do this," he mumbled, his voice cracking before her shoved his head in the crook of Gyda's neck. Gyda reluctantly wrapped her arms around him and played with his hair.
The Australian didn't realise how relaxed she had gotten by Billy's touch until she felt the tears flow from her eyes. She missed him. She missed Stu. She missed all her friends that she has tried pushing away. She pushed them away, for what? For Casey? Casey is dead, and she can't do anything about it. The only thing she can do is help the others stay alove by answering the three questions correctly.
"I am so sorry," she apologised, making Billy look up into her teary eyes and grabbed her hand. "Let's go to your room before the parents come home." Agreeing, Gyda stumbled her way up the stairs, which ended up with Billy carrying her over his shoulder. She was too upset to even look at his butt and not smack it or speak about it like she would've if she was in a better mood.
Billy placed her down on the bed and clapped twice. Gyda looked to him confused and Billy laughed. "I was expecting the lights to turn off," he spoke, his brunette locks falling into his face. "Come here." He did as asked, getting a smooth hand to his face to push out the strands of hair from his face. She looked into his brown eyes for a second before trailing her pointer finger down the side of his face and to his jawline.
Gyda felt him clench and unclench his jaw and she raised an eyebrow before locking eyes with him. He looked torn. Torn between making a move and letting her have her fun. The exchange student grinned before leaning forward, and so did he. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her so they she sat in his lap, facing him. Her eyes began to close, her vision only able to be seen through the squinting of her eyelids.
At the last second, Gyda realised what was going on, twisting her head to the side and moved so that she could kiss his cheek. Clearly caught off guard, Gyda scrambled off of Billy and covered her mouth, the brown-eyed male looking at her surprise. She just dodged a potential first kiss.
Before either could mutter a word, something loud smashed downstairs. Gyda immediately tensed up and grabbed the nearest thing she could, which turned out to be a photo frame. She narrowed her eyes at the door that was wide open, refusing to move. She was not going to die today.
Billy got up from the bed, alerted and concerned. "Are your exchange parents home?" He asked, earning a shake of a head frok the white-haired girl. "No. They will be out for the next two hours." Gyda rushed over to Billy before he could even leave the room, pushing him back as best as she could.
"Are you dumb?" She questioned, annoyed. "Anyone knows walking to the sound of potential danger leads to your death." He stared at her, his face blank before nodding in defeat. "Okay, Gyda. I won't go out there." Another smash was heard, but it sounded closer this time and Billy frowned. "It's getting closer."
"We will not move from this room, if they enter this room, I know this like the bsck of my hand, I know exactly where to go for defence." Billy grabbed Gyda's waist, pulling her to him before putting her behind him. "You will not be harmed, trust me." She looked up at him with wide eyes as she tried to go back around, but it didn't work.
It just made him angry.
"Gyda, stop moving! Can't you see you will cause both of our deaths if you don't stop trying to leave from behind me," he snapped, eyes blazing with anger which caused Gyda to immediately stop what she was doing. He looked so angry, it intimidated the female.
Another crash happened, and it was just outside the door. They both turned to look at the mess along the doorframe, and Gyda knew exactly what it was. There was glass everywhere, but one piece managed to stay in place so that the Australian could recognise that it was a vase.
And they now both knew, the killer was outside her room.
