Gyda looked down at her bruised forearms with a raised eyebrow. She didn't know that she could bruise so easily. "Who did that?"
The Australian froze up in surprise, snapping her eyes to the person who spoke with wide, fearful eyes. The exchange student hadn't seen them since this morning - even going as far as going to another group of people to hang with at Lunch.
"No one," she said simply, shrugging her shoulders. "It wasn't no one, Gyda. Who. Was. It." The brunette stepped closer to the white-haired teenager, brown eyes dark with unspoken anger.
"We were playing Volleyball, Billy. Does there have to be a person behind every bruise?" Gyda looked around the hall, hoping Stu would get there quicker. There was no way that Billy wouldn't notice she's been acting differently if he hasn't already.
"Why are you avoiding me?"
The sadness in his voice made her tense, her fists clenching by her sides. She hated making him sad, especially when she was the source of making him happy on his bad days. "I'm not, I am just wanting to see if I can make friends with other people," she claimed weakly.
It was a poor excuse. They both knew it, but the teenaged woman wasn't going to admit it. "Prove it," he declared, arms moving wide open. "Prove to me you aren't ignoring me, that my mind is just playing tricks on me."
In any other situation, Gyda would have ran into his arms. She would've hugged the attractive male. But she couldn't. Not with the near kiss moments playing in the back of her head, not when them being close is effecting Sydney and their relationship.
She was a better person than that.
"I-I"
"PROVE IT!"
The white-haired Australian flinched as the brunette yelled at her, her blue eyes going from the bright blue they usually were when in a good mood to a dull, watery shade as tears pushed to the front. She was being sensitive, but he had never yelled at her before.
"I'm sorry," she mumbled, pushing past the angry male and rushing down the corridor. "Gyda! Wait, I didn't mean t-" Billy's words were cut off as she ran into someone, too busy rubbing her eyes to notice. "I apologise. I didn't mean to r-"
"Gyda?"
"Randy?"
The two stared at each other. One with watery eyes, the other with confusion and alarm. "What's wrong? Are you okay?"
The transfer student shrugged her shoulders, barrelling herself into the arms of the horror-fanatic and placed her head on his shoulder. She needed to hug someone, and he was the closest person that she knew that wasn't Billy.
"It's okay, Gyda Bear. You want me to take you to the store?" The female shook her head, sniffling. "No, thank you. I need to find Stu. He said he would stay at my house tonight," she explained, her eyelids drooping slightly only to open back up.
"We don't have to look too far. We can't miss a lanky, obnoxious person for too long," Randy joked, rubbing the girl's back gently. The brunette didn't like seeing her upset, and if he was honest, this was the first time he had been seen the Australian even cry.
Gyda moved from hugging Randy to standing by his side, the other wrapping an arm around her shoulder comfortingly. "Let's go find the idiot," Gyda teased, her voice cracking in the middle of it as she sighed.
They found Stu looking worried as he walked back and forth of the entrance of school. "There you are! I've been needing to ta- since when were you two a thing?"
The large and tall male looked between Randy and Gyda, eyes narrowed. "We're not t-together," she hiccuped, removing herself from Randy and over to Stu. "Thank you, Randy. For helping me out back there," she mused, giving her friend a small, appreciative smile whereas Randy gave her a thumbs up and a grin.
"No worries. Any time."
"What was that about?"
Gyda explained to Stu everything that happened with Billy and Randy, not leaving anything out of the story. "So that's why he looks severely pissed off and jealous," Stu admitted.
"What do you mean? Jealous? Of what?" Gyda questioned, tilting her head to the side. "Yes. He's jealous because you hugged Randy," Stu stated, hands in his pockets as they made their way to the Romanoff's current household.
"I can hug whoever I want to hug, and he can't stop me."
"See it this way," the lanky male said slowly. "Billy has had the closest relationship with you than anyone here. You did everything together, almost every second of the day was spent with each other when you were not busy," he continued, licking his dry lips.
"You always went to him for affection, or me if I was there, but not as much as he was." The white-haired bundle of Australian humour listened intently to what Stu had to say.
"He had this sacred thing with you, where it was mutual that he was the only one to be so close to you, and one day, you stop doing everything with him, avoid him all day and then randomly up and hug Randy," he finished, making it to the front door as Gyda frowned.
"Yeah, I guess you're right. I feel bad for doing this, but I won't be the reason why their relationship fails," she said stubbornly. If it was up to her, she'd rather be the one that got hurt than Billy and Sydney's relationship.
"Besides, I don't think he'll be too fussed about it when I go back to Australia eventually."
"That's exactly why you only have to wait until after the Halloween party at the end of the month."
"Why?"
"You'll find out on the day, trust me."
