Maddie woke up to hear her dad, uncle, and Elena talking. And what she heard wanted to make her gag.

"Once again, daughter in the house." Maddie said as she walked into her father's room. "I do have enhanced hearing and I can hear throughout the house."

"Sorry Maddie." Elena said.

"What's going on?" Maddie asked.

"Trying to figure out how to open the tomb." Damon replied. Stefan had told Maddie what happened at the decade dance and his plan of having Damon believe that he was helping him get Katherine out of the tomb.

"So, in order to open the tomb, we need to find the journal to get the grimoire to undo the spells." Damon said "First things first-since you are Elena Gilbert, you're on journal duty."

"Since when am I helping?" Elena asked.

"Well, Stefan's helping, and you've taken up residence in Stefan's bed, ergo..."

"You don't have to do anything that you don't want to do." Stefan said.

"I'll look for it tonight." Elena said.

"How do we know that this journal will hold the location of the grimoire?" Stefan questioned. "We're really going to take the word of this vampire? He seemed like a bit of a dimwit."

"Do you have a better option?" Damon asked.

"OK, what exactly is a grimoire, anyway?" Elena asked.

"It's a witches spell book." Maddie answered.

"Every spell that a witch casts is unique unto itself, so every witch would document their work." Stefan explained.

"I like to refer to it as a witches cookbook." Damon said.

"What about our mystery vampire?" Stefan asked. "Dimwit obviously wasn't working alone, so whoever's out there knows who we are."

"And I don't like that disadvantage, so, chop, chop." Damon said before walking out.

"Do you me to help with anything?" Maddie asked.

"I don't think so." Stefan said.

"Ok." Maddie said.

"Well, I'm going to get some breakfast at The Grill. Maybe I'll hand out there today or work on homework."

"Alright." Stefan said.

"At least wait until I leave the house before you guys go back to what you were doing." Maddie said.

"Just go." Stefan said.

Maddie headed out of the room and went to her room to get dressed. She then made her way to the Grill. While she ate, she drew in her sketch pad. Aside from writing in a journal, which her father had her start doing when she became a vampire, drawing was a hobby of hers. She loved to draw and write. It was calming to her. A lot of times, she would zone out and spend hours drawing or writing. Which she did right now. She spent all morning drawing. She was brought out of her trance, when she saw Tyler sitting across from her.

"How long have you been sitting there?" Maddie asked.

"About five minutes." Tyler said. He tapped the sketch pad. "I must admit that this is really good."

"Thanks." Maddie said as she closed it and put it in her bag.

"So." Tyler started. "Is all you think about is making out with me?" Maddie asked, knowing what he was going to say.

"Well, you're pretty hard not to think about." Tyler said. "And I enjoy having fun with you."

Maddie smirked. "I don't think anyone is home at the boarding house." She said.

"Perfect." Tyler said. "Let's go."

They got out of the booth and went outside, getting into Tyler's car and heading to the boarding house. Luckily, no one was home.

As soon they got inside, Maddie and Tyler started kissing. They did that for a little bit and then Tyler pushed Maddie onto the couch.

"Don't scream." Maddie said, looking into his eyes. She then took his hand in hers and bit into his. While she was drinking his blood, Tyler's hand rested on her stomach under her shirt. She knew where this going. He took his shirt off and attempted to take her's off, but she stopped him. "Stop." Maddie said.

"Oh come on." Tyler said. "Let's have some real fun."

"I said stop." Maddie said as she looked into Tyler's eyes. "Don't try to have sex with me unless I say I want to." She then went back to his wrist.

Just then, someone cleared their throat. They looked to see Stefan standing in the entrance. "Oh shit." Maddie said.

"I see homework is going well." Stefan said.

Maddie looked into Tyler's eyes. "Forget I drank your blood." She said. "All we did was make out."

"I'll uh see you at school, Maddie." Tyler said as he put his shirt on. "See ya, Stefan." He bolted out the door. Maddie got up and headed towards the stairs.

"And where do you think you're going?" Stefan asked.

"To my room." Maddie replied.

"Oh no." Stefan said. "You're coming with me."

"Where are we going?" Maddie asked.

"To find Elena." Stefan answered. "Anna kidnapped her." Stefan grabbed Maddie's wrist, so she couldn't walk away and lead her outside. "What were you thinking?" Stefan asked as the two walked around Mystic Falls.

"We were only making out." Maddie said.

"I'm talking about feeding on him." Stefan said.

"Well, if you hadn't kept me from human blood all these years, maybe I wouldn't of done it." Maddie said.

"Don't do that. You know what you did was wrong." Stefan said. "I'm so disappointed in you right now."

"I don't care." Maddie said.

"Why did you do it?" Stefan asked.

"I needed a distraction." Maddie said.

"That's not a real answer." Stefan said.

"Just shut up!" Maddie said. "I don't want to talk about it."

"Madeline Elizabeth Salvatore! Don't take that tone with me. I have every right to be angry with you." Stefan said. "And I asked you a question."

Maddie was quiet for a moment. "Why didn't my mother want me?" She asked.

"Is that what this is about?" Stefan asked.

"I heard you telling Elena about her at school that day." Maddie said.

Stefan's expression softened a bit.

"I'm sorry if you overheard us." Stefan said. "But, that's not an excuse to feed on people." Maddie didn't say anything. "Stay away from Tyler." Stefan said. "I don't like that boy."

"We were just having fun." Maddie said.

"Just stay away from him." Stefan said. "And you're grounded until I say otherwise." Maddie nodded. They continued to search for Elena.
