JEFF

January 15, 2014 5:00 a.m.

"Drive by the house slowly to make sure no one's awake," said Jeff. Carlos slowed the yellow Stingray down as they neared the Roberts' mansion.

"It doesn't look like anyone's awake," said Carlos in his deep, low voice.

"Good. Park across the street so we can scope out the place. I want to know what type of fancy shmancy security system this place has," said Jeff. Carlos parked the Corvette, and the two men got out and walked across the street. The two men had barely made it onto the lawn when an alarm sounded.

"Oh shit," said Jeff as four buff men came running out of the mansion. "Run!" Carlos and Jeff made it back into the Stingray before the men could catch them.

"We're not coming back here!" exclaimed Carlos.

"No, we're not. Time to come up with a new plan," said Jeff evilly.

TYLER

January 15, 2014 5:15 a.m.

“Sir, I’m sorry to wake you, but Jeff and Carlos were just here,” said the Roberts’ head bodyguard.

“What!” yelled Tyler as he sat up in bed.

“The men barely made up to the lawn before we scared them away. We tried to catch them, but they got back into their car too quickly,” replied Butch, the bodyguard.

“That’s all right, Butch, thank you for telling me. I’m glad you and your men are so efficient,” said Tyler gratefully.

“Well, sir, we are called the best for a reason. Most of our men end up going on to become part of the Secret Service.”

“Thank you again, Butch, but whatever you do, don’t tell Rikki and Adam about this. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to call the Colemans and let them know that the kidnappers are near,” said Tyler as Butch left the room.

Tyler climbed out of bed to go call the Colemans, and Gina woke up with a start. “What happened, Tyler?”

“You really didn’t wake up during our conversation, yet you woke up when I got out of bed?” asked Tyler suspiciously.

“I don’t know why I didn’t wake up. Just tell me what’s going on,” snapped Gina.

“Okay, okay, calm down, honey. Butch just told me that Jeff and Carlos were at our house on our lawn, but the bodyguards chased them away. They were unable to catch the kidnappers, so I’m going to call the Colemans to give them a heads-up that the men are in the area,” explained Tyler.

“That’s a good idea. You should probably call them right now,” said Gina.

“That’s what I’m doing,” Tyler said in an irritated voice. “I’ll call the police, too, so they know that the kidnappers are around. We don’t need anyone else getting kidnapped. I don’t feel like going through that again.”

“Sounds good,” said Gina.

Just as Tyler was out the door, he remembered something. He popped his head back in the door and said, “And, Gina, whatever you do, don’t tell Rikki and Adam about this. They don’t need to be worried. Butch and his men are great bodyguards.”

“Are you sure we shouldn’t tell them, Tyler?” asked Gina. “I mean, shouldn’t they be aware that the kidnappers are close?”

“No, they don’t need to know. I don’t want them worrying. They shouldn’t have to go through this. They should’ve never been kidnapped. They should just be able to live their lives,” said Tyler firmly.

“Okay, whatever you say, Tyler,” Gina sighed.
