TYLER

September 6, 2013 4:30 p.m.

"What do you mean they didn't show up to the limo!" screamed Gina Roberts, face turning bright red.

"Madam, when your kids didn't show up to the limo five minutes after their usual time, I went to look for them. I asked around to see where they might have gone in case they went off with friends and didn't let anyone know. At first, no one seemed to know where they went, but then when I asked a nice woman if she had seen them, she said she saw them get driven away in a green Kia Soul. The woman was quite a ways away from the action, so she didn't notice anything unusual except that Adam fell over. When Rikki rushed to help him into the car, the lady thought everything was all right. I'm sorry, madam, I have failed you," replied Mason sadly. "I may as well say my final good-bye to you."

"It's all right, Mason, you did everything you could do. I'm not going to fire you. You may go home now," said Tyler Roberts in a tired voice.

"Honey, what are we going to do? What happened to Adam and Rikki?" asked Gina frantically.

"Gina, I think the kids have been kidnapped. I should've been more careful. This year several billionaires' children have disappeared, and the kidnappers have never been caught. I think they've been kidnapped by the same people," said Tyler anxiously.

"Oh, I hope Adam and Rikki are all right. Wait a minute!"

"What, dear?" asked Mr. Roberts hopefully.

"Did Rikki bring her phone with her to school today?" asked Gina, trying to contain her excitement.

"Yes, I believe she did. I'll try calling her cell phone." Tyler called Rikki's cell phone. "Dang it, it went directly to voicemail. Rikki must have gotten her phone taken away, have her phone off so the kidnappers don't find it, or be in an area with no cell phone service."

"Oh dear, now we can't find out where she is," said Mrs. Roberts wailed. "What are we going to do?"

"We'd better go report the kidnapping to the police, the sooner the better. I'll let the staff know where we're going and you get the Corvette ready. Okay?" said Mr. Roberts, trying to remain calm with the hope that Gina would calm down as well.

"Okay," replied Mrs. Roberts frantically as she headed out the door and into the garage.

Five minutes later, after running through a few red lights and almost getting a speeding ticket, the Roberts were at the Edina police station. As soon as the two got into the station, they rushed to the front desk. The officer at the front desk asked, "How may I help you two?"

"Our children have been kidnapped," said Mr. Roberts quickly.

"Okay, tell me all you know about the kidnapping," said the officer calmly.

"Well, our driver noticed that the kids were missing at about 3:20 this afternoon, so they were probably kidnapped a little before then, at about 3:15, most likely. Our kids go to the Edina schools, so they were probably taken at the elementary school when our daughter, Rikki, was picking up our son, Adam," said Mrs. Roberts with a voice crack before she started sobbing.

"Our driver started asking people if they had seen our children, and one lady said she had seen our kids get into a green Kia Soul. The lady didn't see either of the kidnappers' faces," said Mr. Roberts as he put his arm around his now sobbing wife. "We also know that our son fell to the ground for an unknown reason, and our daughter helped him into the car. That's about all we know."

"Okay, do you have recent pictures of your kids with you?" asked the officer.

"Yes, I have some in my wallet," said Mr. Roberts as he pulled out his wallet, hands shaking with worry.

The police officer examined the pictures closely and then asked, "All right, can I get your names and the kids' names?"

"My name is Tyler Roberts and this is my wife, Gina Roberts. Our kids' names are Adam and Rikki Roberts. Do we need to fill anything else out?"

"Yes, would you please fill out this paper so we can have your contact information? Did you say you were Tyler Roberts, the CEO of Samba Cola?" asked the officer.

"Yes, I am," replied Tyler curtly. "Now can we please get back to the case of my missing children?"

"Yes, of course, sorry about that. Would you please fill out these papers?"

"Sure," replied the Roberts. Then they filled out the papers as quickly as they could.

When they were done, Mr. Roberts asked, "Will you please let all the other police in the Metro know about this? Also, I will also offer a 50,000 dollar reward to anyone that has any information that could help us get our kids back."

"I can do that," the officer said as he typed on his computer. "I just send a file that will reach every police station in America."

"Thank you," replied Mr. Roberts.

"Here's the police station's number. If you find out anything else or get any strange calls, call us and ask for Officer Smith," said the officer as he handed Mr. Roberts a card.

"Please help us get our kids back," pleaded Mrs. Roberts, tears running down her cheeks.

"I will do everything in my power, ma'am," replied the officer sincerely.
