TROY

October 16, 2013 9:15 p.m.

“You’re an idiot,” Carlos said after the girls had gone to bed.

“I know, but I love her,” replied Troy.

“How long am I going to have to keep up the “nice guy” act? I hate doing it because I’m not a nice guy!” yelled Carlos.

“SHH,” hissed Troy. “They’re going to hear us.”

“Whatever, you’d just better be glad we’re related or else I would kick your butt to California for what you’re making me do. I hate acting like a nice guy.”

“It’s only for a month. Hopefully, I’ll be able to make Rikki fall in love with me in that month,” Troy said wistfully.

“You’re an idiot. She likes that other boy in the bunkhouse. You’re never going to win,” stated Carlos.

“Don’t count me out of it, I have a plan.”

“Well, I hope it’s a good one, or else this whole thing will be a waste. I don’t even know why I’m helping you, I just want my money,” grumbled Carlos.

“Oh, shut up,” ordered Troy. “It won’t take long for her to fall for me. You know how I am with the ladies.”

“Yeah, because all of your past girlfriends were totally cute,” Carlos said sarcastically.

“Hey, don’t you talk about my girlfriends!”

“I can say whatever I want, it’s not like you actually talk to any of them anymore.”

“True, and Dad did set up all of my dates.”

“Dude, your dad is using you.”

“He’s using you, too. Look where you are and what you’re doing. He’s convinced us to kidnap four innocent kids and keep them hostage just for a little money. He’s insane.”

“Well, I could say the same thing about you. Instead of letting the girl you think you're in love with go, you’ve decided to move her into a house to try to force her to fall in love with you. You’re sick.”

“Well, you are, too, you can’t deny it, either,” said Troy.

“No, I can’t. I know I’m a sick person, how do you think I got kicked out of the NBL?” Carlos asked.

“Shut up, I know the story. Don’t worry, cousin, I’ve got a plan. I’ll get the girl, and you'll get the money. It’s a win-win, guaranteed,” claimed Troy.

“Yeah, a win-win, just like your last plan. I ended up in the hospital for a month from a crocodile bite,” Carlos reminisced, rubbing his shoulder.

“Okay, I’ll admit that was a bad plan, but this one’s going to work, I promise.”

"Troy, what do you plan to do after you supposedly win Rikki? Huh? She hates your dad, and she hates me. If you want to be with her, you're going to have to abandon us," Carlos pointed out.

"Oh, I never thought about that," Troy replied, sounding troubled.

"Who's the idiot now?" Carlos said in triumph.
