It's come to the point that people have risked their lives for something as small as a like, and 9 chances out of 10, that like isn't ever going to mean something, but life does.
Remember the Benadryl Challenge? If not, the 'Benadryl Challenge' was yet another idiotic trend started on TikTok, where you consume 10 Benadryl allergy pills just to "feel something." Taking more Benadryl than recommended, can lead to heart problems, seizures, comas, and even death. Even with all the warnings on the bottle, teens continued to participate. One girl in Oklahoma died from this "challenge" and three people were hospitalized. All that for what? To skim a few more followers. Well, I guess those people got what they intended for and made the news several times. I'm betting they felt more embarrassed in the end than they thought they would.

This isn't the first challenge on the web. In 2018, many people were poisoned by the "Tide Pod Challange" where you were supposed to consume Tide Pods. These things:

People have been doing stupid things for clout for a while now. Kim Kardashian got famous because of a sex tape, and she and her family still benefit from it years later! Continuously profiting around her family's scandals and drama. Bhad Bhabie started as the "Catch me outside" girl where she got famous for acting like a bitch towards her mom. Now she makes millions of dollars rapping, but she all started out by being disrespectful towards her mother.
Clout is a term that we associate with achievement. Our culture seems to think that we are being good for being famous, even though we got there from doing the dumbest things. Just because an individual has money and clout, we need to avoid excusing bad conduct because doing so would just perpetuate this negative trend of unrealistic, naïve, ways of living.
You might have your yachts and fame but you'll always have that burden on how you got it.
