In High school, almost every student parked on this specific street called School st. So, you would walk up this street to your car and recognize a lot of your friends' cars parked as well.

Somebody would put a stick of Juicy Fruit Bubblegum under my wiper every day. When I got back to my car, I would find it. It was extremely weird. I asked all my friends if they know something, and they genuinely said no!

What was the meaning behind it? I always brush & floss my teeth. I'm also almost always chewing gum throughout the day, so my breath was fine!

Either someone had a crush on me or I was a victim of choose-a-random-car-to-mess-with. I wouldn't throw out the second possibility too quickly. I had a nice silver BMW 330i in great shape!

This street was full of walking hooligans (we were 17–18, of course we were dumb), so kids messing with cars was a commonly occurring thing. But putting a new stick of gum under the wiper was something unheard of.

It stopped occurring and I hated it. Starting my senior year, I never found a stick of gum under my wiper. Something was missing. A void in my heart. I felt like I had lost something. You get so used to even the smallest things that the absence bothers you. Who was it? Was it a senior from last year who had graduated?

Fast forward, it's somewhere around mid-July, it's graduation time for me. Everyone is happy to leave high school. We walked the stage, celebrated in the quad area of the school, got our diploma papers, and it was time to go. I kissed my family goodbye, I was supposed to meet them at home for the after-celebration there.

Most kids had already left, I stayed a bit longer as the sun start setting. As I walked back to my car, I saw from the distance a paper under my wiper. I had forgot about the mystery bubblegum person. I thought "damn, it's a parking ticket." It was not a ticket.

It was a piece of notebook paper, wrapping something up. I opened up the paper to find a piece of Juicy Fruit Bubblegum and a message on the paper. It said:

"Congrats! :)", largely written in a purple gel pen.

Handwriting was a girl's writing for sure, but I never found out who that person was. This was an awkwardly happy moment for me, I had butterflies in my stomach reading one word on a torn-out piece of paper. Quite a way to end my high school experience!
