I continued to copy the notes off of the PowerPoint, my hand shaky. I'd been stuck in this continuous loop since Papa came home.

My mind wondering.

When I asked him how he knew Aaronzé's name, he simply stated that I had said it out loud before, but I didn't believe him. I'd only called Aaronzé Ronzé, in front of my Papa.

I know I didn't say his whole name. And it wasn't even an easy name to guess, but I had no idea how else he could've known him, so it was back to the drawing board for me.

I looked around the room full of teenagers all copying notes. Class was almost at its end now, and lunch time would come.

I'd meet Aaronzé in the library so we could finish our project, talk with him as if everything else that's been going on is normal, and hopefully get an answer from him.

Or at least an idea of—

BURR.

The class became deathly quiet when the intercom came on in our classroom.

"Ms. Jackson?"

"Yes," She answered loudly, looking away from the computer she'd been typing on.

"Will you please send Marae Bella to the office?"

"Yes," She replied.

"Thank you." CLICK.

Ms. Jackson gave me the go ahead with a nod in my direction, then returned her gaze to her computer.

I felt eyes watch me as I closed my notebook and got up to leave. "You're not in trouble right?" Aaiya tapped my thigh from her seat.
