Chapter 20

Leo's POV

The first week of treatment went well. My mate appeared stronger and seemed to be eating more each day. Her mom came around and understood what was going to happen, but she was still not very happy that I was going to take her daughters "innocence" as she put it. In the end though it came down to saving her daughter's life, so she gave us her blessing. Both Victoria and Jean had been staying at the pack house and everyone but one had gotten to know them both. My uncle had been gone the whole time he was with his pack. He is an alpha as well, but everyone here knows him really well as he helped me right after my parents died. I had gotten word that he was coming to visit, and I couldn't wait for him to meet my mate. Victoria and her mom helped plan a barbeque in honor of him visiting. My little mate was fitting right into the role of Luna so well. Just as my mate and I walked into the living room a knock came from the front door. We walked over opening it to reveal my uncle. He was acting all weird sniffing and taking deep breathes.

"Uhhh Uncle Kane? What are you doing?" I asked as he sniffed me and then my mate. I couldn't help it I growled, and his eyes snapped up to mine.

"So sorry Leo." He said slapping my shoulder in a manly way. "But what is that delicious smell? You both have it on you, but it's not you." I just grinned thinking maybe it's his mate. We had a few she-wolfs come of age in the past few weeks.

"It's ok. Uncle Kane this is my beautiful mate Victoria. Victoria this is my Uncle Kane my mom's brother and Alpha to the Silver Moon Pack."

"So nice to meet you Kane. Please come out to the back yard we decided to have a barbeque for your visit."

"Leo, you were blessed by the Moon Goddess she is beautiful." I growled then coughed trying to hide my jealousy. Kane slapped me on the back laughing. "Boy you got it bad." We all walked through the house and to the back yard. Ever so often I watched as my uncle would sniff the air and spin looking around. Yep, I'm pretty sure his mate is here. He has been waiting a long time for a mate his is Forty and he worries he doesn't have one.

"Hey where is your mom love?" I asked Victoria. I figured she would already be out here.

"I bet she is still getting ready. If you both will excuse me, I'll go see what the hold up is." I watched as my mate walked into the house before turning to Uncle Kane and started filling him in on the situation of my mate. We were in deep conversation as Victoria and Jean walked up to us. My uncle inhaled deeply and spun around facing Jean.

"Mine!" Uncle Kane growled out grabbing Jean and burying his nose into her neck and hair. Jean had a wide-eyed look and a red blush over her cheeks and down her neck. Victoria looked shocked then started laughing like a maniac.

"What's so funny love?" I asked as I wrapped my arms around her waist pulling her into me.

"I can't help it. My mom has a mate. She was so worried about me being mated to a werewolf and now she is." I couldn't help but laugh with her watching as Jean still had a shocked look as Uncle Kane still held her inhaling her scent mumbling mine over and over. After a few minutes I decided I better step in and help Jean as Kane wasn't even trying to move.

"Uncle Kane. I see you have found your mate, but you are scaring her. You know she is human." He slowly pulled away and then tried to regain his composure.

"Kane this is my mom Jean. Jean this is Leo's Uncle Kane. He is an Alpha." My mate introduced her mom to her mate and her mom looked shyly away then keep stealing glances when she thought no one was looking.

"Victoria let's let the two get to know each other. How about some food." My mate nodded and we walked off to let the new mates to work some things out. I just hope Jean will accept him. My mate and I got us a plate and sat with other pack members talking and laughing. I watched as Victoria's eyes would wander over to the pups playing and she would smile. "I see you looking at the pups my love. Do you want pups one day?" I whispered against her ear. She smiled sweetly and kissed my cheek.

"Yes, one day I would love as many as the Moon Goddess will bless us with. But.....only if you want them." She said shyly. I pulled her into a kiss and pushed her wild hair behind her ear grinning at her.

"Baby I want as many as you'll carry." She let out a sigh and I pulled her into my lap. We sat watching the pups and all the pack as they mingled with each other. I noticed my mate keeping an eye on her mom and Uncle Kane as well. I leaned in kissing her ear and felt Victoria shiver from my kiss. "You think your mom will accept my uncle as her mate?" I whispered against the shell of her ear.

"I don't know. She seems pretty cool with werewolves so maybe." She said with a sad shrug.

"What is it baby?" I asked wondering why she would be sad about them being mates.

"Nothing, it's just that mom was devastated after my dad died and she always said she would never marry again. I want her to be happy, so I do hope she accept him and doesn't get to much in her head."

"We'll talk to her later. You think that will help?"

"Maybe." She said turning towards me. "I'm tired Leo can we go to your room and rest for an hour or two?"

"Of course, my love." I said as I stood picking her up bridal style walking back into the house. I mind linked the pack telling them to continue with the barbeque that my mate needs to rest and to keep an eye on Jean and Uncle Kane. Victoria was already falling asleep against my chest as I made it to my room. I laid her down and jumped into bed beside her pulling her body to mine letting sleep claim me as well.
