Friends The word echoes in my head as I stare at Clay. We're just friends I remember him saying and nothing more. Sure, I knew being in love with your best friend is hard but I never knew it would be this hard.
Friends such a small word that holds so much meaning. Friends the only word that makes me doubt myself all together. Was I imagining all the signs? Am I crazy? I thought he felt the same way. We're just friends he said it so casually like it didn't absolutely break me. Why doesn't he love me?
Friends the one word that ended it all. The thing that makes me hate myself. Just friends it replays over and over in my head and it won't stop. I lean in for a kiss and he says We're just friends.
I love my friend I said to him. I'm in love with you I must've sounded crazy. We're just friends he said. But I love you Clay.
Just a short little story because I got some motivation.
