Summer has finally ended and our class started a week already, this time it was different. Gun wasn't here anymore. He's now studying at a university here in Manila and because we are in a different school, we often see each other anymore.
Nagkikita na lang kami sa bahay pag dumalaw siya, at tuwing weekends, para sa dates namin at paggala.
But it's ok this year gagraduate na rin naman ako kaya masusundan ko din siya sa university niya. But hopefully ay makatapos ko ngayong grade level dahil medyo mahirap na siya.
"Hey, do you like this?" naagaw ng pansin ko si Chantel ng ituro niya sa akin ang isang cinnamon bread, kasalukuyan kasi kaming na sa canteen ngayon dahil break time at medyo wala din klase dahil abala ang mga teacher sa malapit na event na gaganapin dito sa school.
"Yeah, ok na yan," Sagot ko at tumingin sa paligid, everybody has their own world and they seem to be enjoying our free time.
"Where are we going to seat ba?" lumabas kami sa pila dito sa counter at tumingin ng available table na pwede namin upuan.
Buti na lang may nakita akong table malapit sa window kaya agad ko iyong tinuro sa kanya, she nodded and we both walk through that table and seat. "What are your plans after we graduated high school?" she asked as we started eating.
"Hindi ko pa alam pero gusto ko talagang maging teacher," I said and genuinely smile, imagining how it would be fun to teach kids and watch them grow. "Teacher? Wasn't that necessary? I mean your family, no your father pala is on business line hindi ka ba nila pipigilan if ever na education yong want mo?" Chantel has a point and I already ask him about that and this is what happened.
Summer vacation in Japan a month ago.
"Papa sensei ni naritai (Papa, I want to be a teacher)" I said while watching a school documentary on the TV. I fly back here to Japan after a week of Gun's graduation dahil ganito ang set up na pinagusapan nila Mama.
I will stay here in Japan during the summer and go back a week before school starts.
"Anata wa bijinesu kosu o toru beki desu (You should take business course)" napalingon ako kay Papa ng sabihin niya iyon, at tinignan ko din si Kuya na nakaupo lang sa kabilang couch.
"Dakara anata wa itsuka anata no kyodai o tasukeru koto ga dekimasu (So you can help your brother someday)" Papa said while fixing his necktie and preparing for work.
I smile and try to chuckle, "Wakarimashita, watashi wa bijines Papa o torimasu (Ok, I'll take business Papa)" I said and went back to what I'm watching and kept my smile. But I know deep inside of me feel sad about that but if that would help my Papa, I will do it.
"Atode aimashou (I'll leave now, see you later)" Papa said, "Hai (Yes)" I said.
Nang makaalis na si Papa agad tumayo si Kuya at kinuha ang binabasa, "Kare no iu koto o kikanaide (Don't listen to him)" He said and walk toward his room. "Sore wa karede wanaku anata no jinsei desu (It's your life no his)" He said before he closed the door.
I hope I can do that...
"What are you going to take them?" Chante asks again, I sigh and look at the window view. "Business," I said.
"Oh come on, diba your kuya said don't listen to your father," Chantel said and took a bite on my bread. "But I'm not that kind of girl, I can't do things against my parents and isa pa ok na din yun para makasama ko si Gun at same kami ng profession someday" sambit ko.
