"Nikki" my mom shouts up the stairs, I open my eyes groggily rubbing them, "Coming!" I shout. I stretch and climb out of bed, slowly making my way to the dresser, I glance at the clock 7:30am, I had to be at school by 8:45am. I groan as a throw on a white hoodie and baggy jeans, I grabbed my favorite black beanie and finally looked in the mirror. I feel like 'I'm missing something' I thought to myself, I finally decided and grabbed a chain. I opened my door and headed downstairs. "hey mom" I said, "Hey darling! I made you a piece of toast!" She said, smiling warmly, I couldn't help but giggle, My mom was like my best friend, she was always there for me and always knew how to cheer me up. "thanks" I said returning the smile. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed the toast, taking a bite, I glanced at the stove eyes widening, "How is it already 8:10!" I yelled running to the front door to put my shoes on and grabbing my backpack, "Sorry mom gotta go love you!" I said quickly running out the door, I jogged to school, About 20 minutes later I got there, panting. Lani, My best friend was waiting for me at the front rolling her eyes and laughing at me. Me and Lani have been friends for about 5 years, She had short black hair with dyes tips that were red, she was about 5'5 and had deep brown eyes she was 18. "Jeez what did you get chased here or what?" She said laughing at me "Oh shut up" I said giggling "C'mon let's get to our lockers" I said grabbing her arm and dragging her in. I myself had medium brown hair, Green eyes, and was pretty tall for the age of 19, I was 5'7. When we got inside though there was a huge crowd of people, "What's going on?" I asked a guy. "didn't you hear about the new girl?!" He exclaimed turning his attention back to the crowd This big of a crown for a new girl? Weird.
