'detectives,' captain holt said with a booming voice, 'i would like you to meet my new assistant, gina linetti.' he announced before going back to his office

rosa's head shot up at the name. gina linetti.

'hi,' the new assistant said before introducing herself. 'obviously i'm gina, i'm just here until the g-hive gets bigger so i won't be here for that long.' she smiled before taking a seat at her desk.

'g-hive?' amy asked

'yeh boo,' gina replied, not looking up from her phone. amy was confused but sat at her desk and continued to do her work anyway, just as most others did. nobody really seemed to care about the new assistant's arrival, not even gina herself... but diaz did. she'd hated gina since she'd first met her 14 years ago.

—————

rosa didn't quite know why she was drawn to gina, she'd only been there for two days but she already knew gina was the worst dancer in the room, she didn't care about anyone except her and her little group, she wasn't the nicest person, especially not to new dancers, but rosa couldn't help but be fascinated by her.

'oi newbie,' she heard a voice from behind her. 'take your position at the barre,' the person who she guessed was her dance teacher instructed

gina and a couple of her friends laughed at rosa as she hurried to the barre. gina laughed, but she couldn't help but wonder why she wanted to go up to rosa and say hi to her... be nice to her even.

rosa hated that she liked gina, she didn't like anyone. she especially didn't like the narcissistic, popular group of people, she usually blended in with the smart kids so she copy off their homework, not that she was dumb, just lazy.

—————

holt exited his office again, 'i have a meeting and i will be gone for a few hours. sergeant jeffords, please get somebody to show miss linetti around the precinct.' the captain ordered before leaving the bullpen.

'diaz! show gina around,' terry shouted from his desk without looking up.

'i can't, i'm busy doing... detective work.'

the sergeant looked up, 'you don't have any open cases,' he sighed. 'you're the only one who's free, show her round or else you're not leaving the precinct.'

rosa swiftly stood up from her desk and pulled out a knife, 'you sure about that sarge?'

'damn rosa, okay you can leave the precinct whenever you want,' terry said as rosa sat back down. 'but you still need to show gina around.'

'oh, i'm sure i can figure it out. as long as i know which room has the best cell service i'll be fine.' gina interrupted

'see-' rosa started before she was cut off by the sergeant.

'no. diaz, show her round.'

rosa groaned before standing up from her desk and walking past gina's desk, 'i'm only doing this because i need to leave early today.' she mumbled as she walked past.

gina took that as a sign to get up and follow the detective around the precinct.

—————

'so, the roof has the best cell service and the...' the assistant hesitated before continuing, 'babylon is the best bathroom?'

'yeh, you get it. that's all you need to know,' rosa told gina before going back to her own desk.

rosa wasn't sure why she'd told gina about babylon or why she'd told her where the best signal was, she was being almost... nice to gina.

'hi babyyy,' rosa heard from across the room. 'you having a good day?' gina smiled into the phone. 'i'll be home super soon, i love you baby girl.'

baby girl? rosa was confused. gina was always talking about boys and how annoying her boyfriend was and from what rosa could see, gina hadn't changed much in 14 years. there was no way gina was gay... bi, maybe?

'diaz, don't you need to leave early?' rosa was taken away from her thoughts by the sergeant yelling her name

'uhh yeh, thanks sarge.' rosa said before abruptly leaving her desk.

'bye diaz, thanks for showing me around.' gina yelled, smiling. rosa ignored her

why did gina say that? diaz wasn't nice to her all day, she didn't like diaz and diaz definitely wasn't gonna be one of her biggest fans... the assistant didn't like the detective, even more than before if that was possible.
