The whistles blown twice

My teammates hauled ass off the benches, I'm so proud of them. As I was about to get up, Christen runs over to me and she hugs me tightly around my good side.

"We did it baby" I tell her and she nods smiling, tears streaming down her cheeks. She ushers me with her, where our team is currently in a group hug. I was quickly pulled in, and embraced gently from both sides.

A lot of emotions and happiness were shared, we couldn't be any happier. Pulling away from the hug, I look for my best friend. She's across the feild tears in her eyes, catching her breath.

"Alex!" I shout, before she turns over to me. I was lifted off of my feet from the back. I was on Ashlyn's shoulders and Alyssa was

Next to us as we celebrate, Alex making her way over. After we get through celebration with each other, we meet up with out families. My parents were coincidently sitting by Christen's family. So we both walked over, and I hugged Christen's family first. I kiss Christen's dads cheek before I thank him, and I move over to my parents.

"Hey momma" I tell my mom as she tears up, and reaches down to hug me. This the first time I've seen her cry in person, no joke. She kisses my forhead, and holds me tightly around my neck as I pat her back. "I'm so proud of you" she tells me, and it took everything in me not to cry. She's never told me something like that, she pulls away smiling down at me. My sister Adeline reaches over, and hugs me. I ruffle my nephews hair

"Let's get you down here Pal, Cameron mind helping?" I ask my brother in law, and he nods happily. He helps me bring Donovan down so he doesn't fall, he's a big boy but still. My sister Rylie smiles shyly at me while she stands next to Adeline. I reach up to her, and she gives me a light hug.. a short one but that's progress.

"I'll see you guys soon"

Donny and I walk over to the girls, Julie hands me the world cup. I give it to Donny, who looks at it like it's the only light shinning the stadium. It looked like the scene out of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, when he was given the wand.. then the light shined in as he held it. We take a picture together, while I side hug him. He stands next to Jesse's son while we get out medals. For some reason they made me second to last, in front of Carli. She holds the cup in front of me, urging me to put my hand on it. When we bent down, and raised the trophy up, the confetti guns went off.

It was a moment, I'll forever carry in my heart.

Time skip;

Celebrating in the locker room before I head out back to the states. It was chaotic but it was nice to have this moment with them one last time.

"What's it for you, after all of this" Kelly asks me with a beer in her hand. As we sit on the chairs around us as everyone else records themselves getting lit.

"Don't know.. Soccer's all I know."

"You'll figure it out" She pats my back gently. I give her a light smile, letting her know I appreciate what she had said. As I start to say my goodbyes, everyone starts groaning because it won't be the same when I'm gone. Before I get to everyone, they start cheering. I advert my attention to the show Alex was performing.

"Geez Al"

She starts twerking.

'I'm gonna miss this' I think to myself.

I feel arms around my shoulder as everyone starts hollering at Alex, recording with their phones because who knows when Alex will get down like that again.

"Send me that" I whisper too Sonnett

"Roger that" we both giggle.

"Looks like everyone is enjoying themselves, let everyone know I'll see them soon will ya?" I ask of Emily. She looks at me sadly, but nods respectfully anyway. I pat her shoulder, and give her a light smile before I start to make my way out of the locker room.

As I walk down the private hallway. I hear cleats running down the hall towards me. Looking back with curious eyes, too see my loving girlfriend.

"Goodbye Kiss?" She asks me, and I chuckle. I lean down to capture her lips. It wasn't short or long, it was simply pure. After we part, not giving each other a second to compose ourselves. We embrace in a hug, despite how sweat and wet she is from the locker room champagne rain.

"Call me when you land" she tells me as we separate. "I'm serious Holly" she sternly pokes my chest.

"I will"

................................................................

"We called security to escort you and your family out Ms. Reed" a flight attendant informs me as we start to get our small luggage from the plane.

"Oh uh, is it necessary? I don't want any attention" I ask her politely. She gives me a warm chuckle. "Ma'am, there's a lot of USA fans waiting for you to arrive" she tells me, grinning at me. Everyone in the plane was already looking at me. They start clapping and congratulating, and I thank them shyly. They let me out ahead of everyone else, along with my family. When we go downstairs, to get our lugagge. Travelers around us start clapping, and yelling "Go USA", I wave at them smiling. I'm not one for attention but this year the World Cup has reached great heights then the last one. I called Chris too let her know I've made it too the states, and told her about the fans when they arrive.

We grabbed our luggage, as security surrounded us to help us though the crowd. They led us to where our taxi was, and my parents put our luggage in the cab. They get in, but I stayed behind just a little to sign things for the youngins. I hug, and take pictures with the fans I could get too. Talked to a few, and said goodbye. Everyone wishing me a good surgery, and recovery.

We're driving up the hospital, and my nerves kick in. When we get there, people start clapping and cheering on. It came out muffled too me, like if people were underwater. I started too feel trapped, and I wanted too get in as soon as possible. I want to get over this already, I don't want too relive it anymore.

They start too prep me, as we wait for my surgeon too arrive. The nurses give me a run down on what's going to happen, and what they will do for the recovery afterwards. I kinda spaced out, thinking of my career.

"We're ready for you" the nurse speaks up again, and this time I looked up.

"Alright" I tell them, and they wheel me too the hall way. My parents were waiting patiently, and my sisters got up when they saw me.

"You got this" Riley tells me, lightly squeezing my shoulder. Adeline hugs me before my mom does too. When I say bye too them. They finally wheel me too the OR, they get me ready. I look at the light, as they tell me too count 100 too 1.
