Swaying to the music, I did my makeup. Singing to 'Runaway by Bon Jovi' I put my makeup back in its spots. Pulling on the jean shorts over my fishnet, I pulled on the cropped shirt and the flannel. Grabbing my boots, I slipped them on. Putting my leather bracelet back on, I grabbed my phone and keys. Going out to my ute, I got in.

An Hour Later

Walking into the converted barn, I went straight to the back where I knew they were sitting. Seeing me they all got up, smiling happily, I pulled them all into hugs. Sitting down they handed me my already bought drink. Sipping the non-alcoholic drink, we all catched up. Angel was still having trouble dealing with moving on from her ex, a year later. Kitty was still the outgoing one, still doing wild shit. Brandy was still too awkward to find a guy. Grace was focused on her career and Riley... Well Riley was Riley.

Hearing a good song, we all dragged each other to the dancefloor. Dancing with one another, I smiled happily. I'd missed my girls. We knew each other since we were teenagers before I left. We kept in touch and caught up whenever we could. It had been 3 months since I saw them at Olivia's birthday. Slowly we dispersed and danced with some of the guys. Most of them were rig workers on their way through town. Finding myself a guy I knew was a local, he spun me around a few times. Looking up into his eyes, I saw something familiar about them, I couldn't put my finger on it.

After a few hours, I struck up a conversation with the guy. Telling him about my kids, he smiled intently. "Yeah Julius is a real sweetheart compared to his older sister" I smiled.
"Julius? Funny, my fathers name is Julius though he doesn't go by it" swallowing hard, I looked at him.
"I don't think I got your name" I smiled politely.
"Oh yeah Rickey Benson" looking away, I stared intently on the bar.
"Well that explains a lot..." I whispered under my breath. "Listen I've got to get home. Early morning" I smiled politely. "I'll see you around". Getting up, I kissed his cheek and left.
"Wait I didn't get your name either" before I could answer, I saw his figure in the crowd walk up to me. "Shit. Fucking shit" I hissed and hide behind Rickey, hoping he didn't see me. He walked straight past us and into the bathrooms to our left. "Brother there you are" another man came up behind Rickey. My heart pounded as I looked up at Garrett. I realised the familiarity of Rickey's eyes, the brothers had the same eyes. Moving backwards, the group of guys to our right noticed me. "Fuck" I hissed and rushed out the door as they hollered out to me. Rushing out to my ute, I got in and raced out the car lot.
