Scarlet's PoV:

"Hey Teal" I call, with a wave and cheery smile, gratefully inhaling the fresh air on the balcony.

"Oh... hi..." the smaller child mumbles back.

"You okay?"

"I.... not really" she bitterly mutters; her cold tone makes me flinch a little.

"I'm sorry, but I swear I didn't do anything!"

"Exactly" Teal snaps back, "you didn't do anything. You could have stopped it, but you chose not to..." suddenly she sighs. "Look, I'm sorry... I just can't help being paranoid."

"I understand" I honestly reply, "I don't think I'd trust me either."

She had been so close with her mother...

I slipped my hand in my pocket to check that the object I'd put there hadn't fallen out. Luckily, it hadn't.

"What are you doing?" Teal asks, making me jump and my hand instinctively shoots out of my pocket.... sending the thing crashing onto the floor, the light reflecting off the shiny blade

"I-Is that a.... a kni-" she gasps, backing away from me.

"No! Well.... yes, it is a knife.... but I'm not going to use it, honest!" I protest, not really liking the whine in my voice... but there was a more important matter at hand at the moment.

"Okay" my former best friend shakily declared. "You're going to walk away. Right now. And I'm going to pick it up and dispose of it"

"A-Alright" I sob, tears threatening to fall down my face at any second. "I just... wanted something to remember my mum..."

"Go. Now." She quietly ordered, pointing away. "And we can keep this between us"

Quickly nodding, I turn around and speed walk back to the cafeteria; the other children were scattered all around the large room.

"Okay, kids" Lime calls, "bed time now."

"So... we're not going back home?" Chocolate sadly asks.

"Not yet. We should be soon, though" Lime reassuringly says. The rest of the children begin leaping down the stairs to the bedroom areas, and I followed unenthusiastically.

"Uh, Scarlet," Lime asked as I trudged past him "do you know where Teal is?"

"Balcony" I melancholically murmur, continuing towards the stairs. Lime seemed concerned, but I'd disappeared down the stairs before he could say anything further on the matter.

Teal's PoV:

Scarlet had just left me alone on the balcony. Finally snapping out of my frozen, shocked state, I scamper over to the knife and snatch it off the floor. Small... small enough to hide in a pocket without anyone noticing.

She's dangerous...... she's dangerous..... she's dangerous.......

I keep repeating those two words in my head, which turns into me muttering them under my breath. Did Scarlet use this knife? Or was it honestly just her mother? Whose blood was on this knife?

But...Red had a gun as well...where was that?

Scarlet is dangerous. She's going to kill me. Why else would she have had that knife, why would she have been secretly holding it?

Okay. I need to get rid of this. The balcony was good for getting rid of dangerous things.

I have to stand riiiiight on the tips of my toes to reach over the edge of the balcony, and hurled it far away, unable to watch it fall down due to my height, but satisfied that it was gone.
