5 Days Later...

Right now, Amarah and Novah were sitting outside of the courtroom waiting to be called in. It had been five days since Anovah was taken from her parents, and it's been the best five days of her life. The time she spent away from them was awesome. She was fed when she got hungry, changed whenever she was dirty, and most of all, she experienced just the bare minimum of LOVE.

Hearing approaching footsteps, Amarah looked up casually while Novah was in her own little world. She was distracted, though, when she noticed a familiar pair of shoes; those of which belonging to her father. She instantly started to slightly panic, while Amarah slowly became upset.

Smirking down at them alongside Clarence was Bianca. She just knew she was getting under Amarah's skin. For the past three days, their lawyer had been trying to get Amarah to do anything that could cause her the case. Bianca had also been sending her threatening messages, leaving nasty voicemails on her office phone, and she even went as far as beginning to follow Amarah in hopes of finding Novah.

"Well, well, well! Hello Ms. Hammond. What a pleasure seeing you here."

Ignoring her, Amarah grabbed Novah's hand in an attempt to try and calm her down.

Not liking the lack of back talk, Bianca continued with her petty and childish behavior.

"Hi there, daughter of mine. I see your black ass is starting to somewhat get lighter. Maybe me and your father could give you a real room now when we get back home. Maybe...you could even start going out with us! How does that sound, pumpkin?"

Clearly knowing Novah was the only not understanding her, Bianca was now just talking to get Amarah to at least raise her voice or threaten her, being that they had someone recording the entire encounter.

Clarence, however, was glaring at the sight of his daughter. It seemed as if the little bit of love he had for her vanished the morning the cops came to their home. He, just like his wife, now believed that Novah was the cause of all of their problems.

"Mrs. Carter. I'm going to nicely ask you to back away. Anovah isn't comfortable around you."

"I don't give a damn about how her stupid ass feel. The little bitch can't even talk, and you think I care about her being comfortable?"

Before Amarah could respond, one of the officers stepped out of the courtroom to let them know it was their time to come in.

"Well let's see how this goes, shall we? May the best woman win, Ms. Hammond."

Not bothering to respond that time, Amarah just took Novah's hand and walked into the courtroom.

May the games begin.

...................................................................

For at least 30 minutes already, Bianca and Clarence's lawyer was surely lying his ass off.

"Your honor, I can assure you that Mr. and Mrs. Carter would never do anything like that to harm their child. With that being said, I would like to call our first witness; Dr. Peter Hammond."

Hearing her brother's name really shocked Amarah. She didn't even know he would be there that day, let alone speaking on Novah's behalf.
