Farah's Surprise

Excuse any mistakes.
Thanks to iiamqueen7 for the idea!❤️

Farah stood in her and Treyton's shared bathroom stunned and completely lost. She had noticed for a few days that her body was changing and reacting in unusual ways, and she was scared to even think of why. But, her suspicions were confirmed; she was indeed pregnant.

The history with Farah and pregnancies isn't a form of bad karma or anything. Infertility has been passed down from generations and Farah just so happened to be one of the women in her family affected. Doctors have always told her that she'd most likely be able to get through at least one successful pregnancy in her lifetime, but after all the heartache that came with her multiple miscarriages, she lost all hope.

Reading over the four pregnancy tests in front of her didn't help with the nerves. She knew it was bound to happen being that she and Trey were heavily against using protection, but neither of them were thinking of this. As much as Farah didn't want to continue the cycle of not having a baby of her own, Treyton didn't want to see her suffer anymore either.

When Farah got pregnant the very first time, the couple was ecstatic. They waited until she hit three months and the doctors were able to clear up a lot of important things before they told anyone. The atmosphere around them felt supporting and genuine for the first time in a long while. However, Farah miscarried a week after hitting the third month.

That whole ordeal had the couple in a chokehold. They didn't understand what went wrong after doctors ensured them that everything was cleared out. While grieving they got the news that she infertile. Being that she didn't have a good relationship with her mother, she wasn't informed, but of course Fatinah was. So after their first failed pregnancy, they kept trying only to get the same outcome.

Thinking back to all of the pain she went through with and without her husband had Farah thinking wether or not she even wanted to attempt it again. She was totally against abortions to a certain extent, but she wasn't mentally prepared for the damages or old wounds to open up.

"What you doing, bae?"

Trey had been standing at the bathroom door for a few minutes trying to wake himself all the way up. He saw the tests sitting on the counter as well as the one she was holding but his mind wasn't processing it all just yet.

"Umm, yeah...sorta."

"What you mean?"

Finally coming to realization he payed attention to the test in her hand. His eyes tripled in size and he just stared at her as if asking was she serious with his eyes.

"Yeah. All four are positive."

"Damn, Farah."

"I know."

She then began to tear up. She wasn't upset about the news itself just about what could happen. And her mind wasn't exactly agreeing with her heart at the moment.

"I'm scared."

Trey didn't even say another word. He just rushed to his wife and embraced her. His own mind was racing, but he wasn't having any negative thoughts. In his opinion, this news couldn't have come at a better time.

"Don't cry, bae. C'mon. Let's go sit down."

He guided her back into their room and over to his side of the bed. He sat on the edge of their California King bed and pulled her down on his lap rubbing her stomach in slow circles.

"Talk to me. What's on your mind?"

"I don't know, Trey. Im just...hesitant. Im scared. I feel empty and my head isn't into it like my heart is and I don't know what to do or exactly how to feel and-"

"Calm down. Breathe. Think about it before you try and speak, baby. Don't overwhelm yourself."

Farah took a couple deep breaths in and out and actually thought about how she wanted to put her feelings into words. She definitely didn't want to offend Treyton in any kind of way or make him feel as if she's not at least open to the idea of trying again.

"I'm just scared; that's what it all comes down to. I'm scared of failing again or letting you down. I'm scared to put myself through that all again. You don't know how it feels inside, Trey. I've had to carry my dead babies inside of me to a hospital to have them taken out. I've never had the courage to hold them. I've never had the courage to even look at them. I can't keep doing it, boo. Just thinking about it drains me all over again."

Trey took a minute to process what she was saying. He knew that she felt some type of way, but not like this. Of course he doesn't know how it feels for a mother to bond with a human inside of them just for said human to be snatched away before they're able to officially meet. He just hoped and prayed he didn't make her feel as if he wasn't being considerate.

"I understand. I do. No, I can't imagine or even begin to think about that special bond you've built with them; even if it wasn't long. I just know how upset and discouraged you were when we had to adopt, bae. THAT'S what I don't want you feeling."

It's true. When they had to adopt, Farah wasn't completely on board with the idea at first. She felt as if not being able to carry a baby herself made others see her as less of a woman. She thought that her husband was going to leave her for someone who could give him the three kids he originally wanted, and that scared her. She pushed her body all this time because she thought she was losing him, and that couldn't have been further from the truth.

"I just don't want to disappoint you. I know how bad you've always wanted kids just like me, and I can't give them to you."

"Don't think like that. You'll never disappoint me especially because you can't control it. Yeah, I been upset, but not at you. I don't love you because of what you can or cannot give me, Farah. I love you for you."

Taking in what he said was like breathing in fresh air. Farah didn't doubt her husband's love for her, but to hear from his own mouth that he wasn't disappointed with her brought happy tears to her eyes.

"I love you, Trey. I wish I could say it every second of everyday."

"I love you more, bae. More than anything."

"Promise you ain't ever leave me if it gets tougher, okay."

"I promise. We gotta take care of our family and each other together. Forever."

He gave her a sweet kiss and pulled away to rest his chin on her shoulder while his hands rested on her stomach. It was slightly hard so there was no doubt that she was indeed carrying, but they still wanted to be sure.

"You gonna make your appointment later on today? We can call out and take Peaches with us. How that sound?"

"That sounds good, boo. You wanna go back to sleep?"

"Yeah. You done in the bathroom?"

"Yeah. I'll clean it when we get up."

"Okay. I love you, bae."

"I love you more."

The couple went to sleep while their daughter was sound asleep in her room. Even though this seems like life is looking up for them, it's only temporary. Somewhere someplace there were people wanting to get to the family. They wanted the family to hurt, suffer even. It's about to get messy!
