"Your reflexes are a little sloppy today, stay alert (y/n)" Levi said as he circled me, for the past few weeks he was giving you private lessons to improve your skills and you had been making great progress. It really had brought you and Levi a lot closer.

"sorry" you chuckled, rubbing the back of your neck. "it's fine, we've done enough for today anyway" He said turning on his heel, it was time for dinner anyway.

"would you like to come to my office after dinner and help me with paperwork?" He asked giving me a sideways glance. "yes of course" you smiled entering the mess hall "I'll see you after" you called as you went to sit with your own friends.

Levi's pov:

He glanced at her as she sat on the other side of the mess hall chatting with her friends, he felt himself falling madly for her but it scared him, he had lost too many people, haunted by their deaths so he vowed he'd never fall again but here he was.

He knew emotionally he wasn't very stable enough for a relationship so he keep her at arms length. never quite letting her in even though she continued to try anyway. he felt bad for pushing her away in that aspect but being friends was probably for the better.

After a few moments she caught him staring and smiled brightly at him, waving her hand. He looked away, going back to drinking his tea, she frowned a little before just shrugging him off, going back to her own food. He sighed as he stood up, leaving the mess hall.

You watched Levi leave in deep thought, it felt like he was holding back or hiding something and it left you confused at times, regardless you would still continue to try be there for him. you ate the rest of your meal in silence. once you had finished you cleared your tray then made your way to Levi's office.

By this point you didn't bother to knock on the door before coming in because how frequently you were here. You smiled softly at him as you shut the door behind you which he returned with his blank stare, you were used to it at this point but you knew it wasn't how he truly felt, he just wouldn't show his emotions
