Graduation

Today is the day...

We have all been waiting for..

Today marks the end..

Of a long exciting journey, complicated yet fulfilling..

Today we draw a curtain on a journey well taken...

Today marks an end yet a beginning to another journey...

Today...

I laugh in excitement.

I can't believe I made it this far.

Smoothing the corner of the academic gown, I adjust the cap turning around to face my parents, they both look happy and excited.

"Am so happy for you" my mum gushed, squeezing my cheeks affectionately.

"Mum, stop... We are outside people are watching" I wave her hands away.

"Oh come of it, you are my baby" my dad laughed at her words.

They came really early for the graduation ceremony, which starts in an hour. They couldn't miss my big day. They are both here... Together!

"I need to find my friends, meet you in the hall"

I walk briskly towards the school building where most of the graduands were chatting among each other, laughing at each other happy that we are finishing this phase.

"Hey girl friend.. " Adeola said wriggling her eyebrows for extra measure. She is with Tomi, i grin pulling them into a group hug.

"We are finally leaving this dumping ground!" Tomi exclaimed as we all laughed.

"Where are the boys?" I asked in confusion.

"Right here" we turn around at the voice of Tokunbo who was also in his graduation gown with Folahami. I smile at the two, i watch as Tokunbo pulls Tomi in a hug.

Things are looking good between those two.

"Hope we didn't miss anything?" Folahami asked, i shook my head as Prince runs up to us fighting with his graduation gown.

That boy....

"No, we have not been called" Adeola said helping her twin with the gown "where is Femi?" They shrugged. "Why are you_"

"Here I am" Femi appeared fully dressed. Adeola sighs, a smile playing at her lips as he placed his arm around her shoulder.

"Where is Shubomi? You know we can't do this without him" I said looking worried.

"Am right here" my heart skip at the sound of his voice. I will never get tired of that voice. I turn around to look at him, gasping in surprise as he pulls me in a hug. "Thank you... For everything... " he whispered into my ear. I inhale his scent, looking up with a smile, i gave him a nod.

"I can't believe it... We are all here, we are all graduating!" Adeola exclaimed as we laughed at her words. "It's so unreal, am so happy for us guys! In fact, group hug" she cheered which made Shubbie shook his head.

"Na... I don't group hug, it's not my forte _"

"Get over yourself " I cut him off, pulling him closer as they all laugh.

We look up as they call us to line up, it is time.

The hall was filled to the brim, the graduating students, students, teachers, parents and well wishers. You can see a smile practically on everyone's face. The principal gave his speech about how this set was one of the best set ever.
