"No."

"What if-"

"No."

"Come on, Yn!"

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because he," Yn point an accusatory finger at Peter. "Was not mentioned when I agreed to do this," she fumed, shaking her head at the adults in the room.

"I told you this was a bad idea, Mr. Stark," Peter groaned, rubbing a hand over his face.

"It was a terrible idea," Yn concurred, already spinning on her heel to walk out of the room.

"Yn Potts-soon-to-be-Stark, where do you think you're going, exactly?" Pepper's warning tone only stopped Yn for a moment, her disposition towards Peter trumping her fear of her mother.

"Anywhere Peter Parking Lot isn't," Yn answered once she reached the door, her hand already on the knob. "When you brought up singing at the engagement party, I was ecstatic. I love you both and I love singing, but I -"

Yn sighed. Her fists clenched together as she tried not to scream at Peter, an apologetic look on her face that was directed towards her mom. "I've been dreaming of the day you and Tony got married since I was five, and I can't do something I love so much with someone I can't stand. I share every other aspect of my life with that thing -" Yn shot Peter a glare filled with so much hatred that if looks could kill, he'd have died six times over. He knew Yn didn't particularly like him, but he'd hope that because this was for her mom and Tony, she'd be a little less livid. Clearly, he was wrong.

"Yn, I know you're upset, but it's just for four hours of your life," Tony said, trying to coax his soon-to-officially-be daughter into singing at the party.

"You'll just have to rehearse today for two hours and then sing at the party for another two," Pepper added. She made eye contact with her only child, the look in her eyes saying please with such conviction that Yn momentarily re-evaluated how much she couldn't stand Peter.

"I swear I won't speak to you unless we're singing," Peter quipped from the corner of the room, all eyes turning in his direction. He'd been so quiet everyone except Yn forgot he was there. Any time she was breathing the same air as Peter Parker it was like he was a soul-crushing weight, stealing all her oxygen until he left. "The rest of the time, it'll be like we're not even in the same place."

Impossible, Yn thought to herself. "Well, then you're already failing miserably," she lamented, earning her a scolding "Yn!" from her mother.

"Sorry," she mumbled. Yn walked onto the stage and whispered something to the band behind her before gripping onto the microphone at center stage. "If we're gonna rehearse, we might as well start now. Sorry for wasting so much time with a personal gripe," Yn smiled, Pepper letting out a large sigh of relief...until the band started playing Forget You by Cee-Lo Green, though Yn planned on using lyrics that would not pass the Pepper Potts board of approval.

"See you swinging round liked a webbed idiot and I'm like FU-"

"YN LN POTTS!" Pepper screeched, her face turning beet red. "What has gotten into you today? I swear, child, you are going to give me a stroke!" Pepper sighed and rubbed her temples, walking towards the door of the reception hall. "I have no idea what happened to my sweet, loves everyone daughter, but get your attitude in check and start practicing because this is no longer a request. You're singing with Peter whether you like it or not and you're doing it with a smile on your face because I'm getting married and you're going to be happy for me. Are we clear?"
