"y/n you have to listen to me! PLEASE.. please trade roommates with me. i beg you. for the love of barbatos, you have to!" kaeya alberich shook you without blinking an eye. you stood, unamused in his grasp, before you wriggled away and rolled your eyes, almost laughing at him due to his desperate to switch roommates with you.
what a fine way to start a new college year, indeed.
you were not new to the prestigious school, and knew most of the faces that went there already. the person that you were assigned to room with, rosaria, was not exactly too keen of you, however. then again, she wasn't too fond of everybody, minus kaeya, of course.
you didn't know how that obnoxious dark haired man managed to slither himself into the lives of literally everybody, but he was someone whom you considered to be your best friend, and a very annoying one, at that.
"is this just a ploy to get closer with rosaria?" you asked, folding your arms over your chest as you looked at him with a still face to which he responded with a frantic shake of the head.
"no! i guess that part is just.. a coincidence.." he mumbled to himself, in his own for for a second, and then straight back to the conversation, "i was paired with my horrid brother. you have to save me.. he will murder me in my sleep!" he shrieked, ever so dramatically, which caused bystanders to look at the two of you strangely. you shrunk in your place and swiftly grabbed kaeya, walking to some place that was more secluded.
"oh.. y/n, i didn't know you were this type of p—"
a flick to his forehead cut him off.
"oh, shut up, would you?" you snapped, tempted to flick him again once he poked his tongue out at you.
you'd known him ever since your pre teen years. it was safe to say that he had not changed in the slightest.
"so.. what do you say? please switch with me," he continued, watching for any facial expressions. your shoulders slumped.
well. rosaria didn't exactly like you, and it would've been awkward to begin with. but kaeya's brother . . .
you had heard very little about him, but you had seen him around, once or twice.
his fiery red hair was hard to not catch. he always had to tied in a low ponytail, while his messy strands of hair framed his godly face perfectly.
ah, yes. another man sculpted from the gods to be stuck with. to anybody else, it would have sounded like a dream, but you were a little on the introverted side, only having your extroverted outbursts when you got to know somebody well.
"okay, fine! you got me. you can have rosaria.." you started, watching his face light up with both excitement and relief. you huffed, "not like she liked me to begin with,"
kaeya nearly howled in laughter at your last part; something you thought he wouldn't have heard.
"don't take it too hard, rosaria doesn't like most people. she finds me annoying sometimes, too-"
"who doesn't find you annoying.."
"hey!"
you shrugged and watched his scowl slowly turn into a smirk due to the fact that in the end, he had still won. he wasn't going to have to room with diluc and suffer. that was now your job.
"if we're switching roommates, you have to help me get my things into the room, though."
"leave it to me, my beloved y/n," he said, leaving your side to immediately go and grab the few things that you had put in the shared room. you shook your head and followed behind him, greeting a few other students who passed you which you already knew.
