"you know what i think your problem is?" you asked, pushing along the grocery cart with glee. it was a sunny saturday afternoon; you were supposed to have gone out to visit your parents, but then they texted you saying they would be going out of town for a few days. it was a little annoying, since you barely got to see them, but staying with diluc for two extra days wasn't exactly unbearable., "hey! did you hear what i said?"

your red headed friend didnt look so interested in whatever you were saying. he was just staring down at some lemons, seeming to be in some deep, great thought. you rolled your eyes.

"i think you're lonely." you said, poking his side. he stiffened almost immediately, and let out an irritated grunt while grabbing a few lemons.

"am not."

"are too!"

"i am not lonely. i just choose to be left alone since i prefer silence.." diluc said, placing the bag of lemons into the cart. you frowned, and thought of jean. well, you didnt know if her crush on your roommate was legit or not, but you certainly didnt want to go and try to set him up with donna. she was just.. feral.

"but what if you had someone you could enjoy the silence with? wouldnt it be.. nice?" you suggested, stopping the cart in front of a display of nutella that was stacked in a way that looked extremely dangerous. just one touch, and all of the jars wouldve gone flying. you squinted and carefully took one jar of nutella off the strange showcase.

diluc let out a sigh and looked over at you.

"why are you suddenly interested about my love life? shouldn't you be taking care of your own?"

the loud, and overdramatic laugh that'd fallen from your lips nearly shook the entire grocery store. diluc stared at you, unblinking. yes, he was rethinking his life choices.

"xiao and i decided to just be friends, and im actually kinda happy about it!" you chirped in a sort of false happy tone, earning a look of suspicion from diluc. not wanting to talk more on the subject of the green haired boy, you rolled the cart forwards, but as you attempted to turn it towards the right to go and grab some instant noodles, the whole display of chocolate spread collapsed in front of you. your eyes widened, and so did your roommates.

"well, how is it my fault that some worker decided to make a shitty display!" you grumbled, rolling far, far, far away from the mess before anybody could throw you out from the mini tantrum that you were having.

diluc couldnt help but snort to himself at your little outburst. all this about his love life, yet you needed to seriously work on your own.

after stocking up on some packs of ramen, you mentally went over your list of items, checking the cart with a satisfied hum. the cartons of grape juice did catch your eye, but you didnt say anything about it. you assumed it was what kept diluc sane.

"anything else you think that we need?" you asked the man who peered over your shoulder to take a look into the cart. the space between the two of you was very little, which was why you immediately felt your face heat up at this sudden interaction. your head quickly turned to look back into the grocery cart, while diluc shook his head, and then stepped away from you. he was wearing his usual dark attire; a dark brown sweater, and his black coat that went on top. no matter what he wore, he always managed to look so warm and cozy. the loose strands of his red hair framed his tired face, and his ponytail remained low.
