"diluc? diluc, wait!"
"please, leave me alone."
even though diluc usually used such tone with you, you knew that giving him space probably would have been the best idea. oh, how you were going to rip that little purple twerps head off...
you obviously hadn't known your roommate for long, but what scaramouche had said did not sit right with you, especially since he had said it towards a person you considered your friend.
"alright.. but.. if you need anything, let me know! food, movies, a hitman, a hug.."
"a hug?"
you narrowed your eyes at the man who stared you down, his facial features remaining as still as they were from before.
"you notice the hug option when its next to the option of a hitman?"
diluc looked away in silence, and then shook his head with a scoff, "i'll be leaving now, and it would be great if you don't come after me and try to enjoy the rest of this.. absurd event." he muttered, honestly not wanting to be followed by anybody. he just wanted some time to himself for the moment being. you nodded with a frown.
"student council.. always so inefficient." you heard him say, seconds before he walked off once more, leaving you alone.
you didn't want to go back to the event now. you wanted to help diluc be less upset.. but you were afraid that if you tried to go after him, he would become even angrier. your shoulders slumped.
"hey, why the long face?" a voice asked from behind you, soon walking up next to you with a small grin. you rubbed your temples and turned towards the man.
"childe, do you wanna go and get some ice cream? like.. away from here?"
the ginger blinked.. once.. and then twice.. you were starting to think that he would turn you down, but instead of doing that, he gave you a bright smile, and a nod.
"sure! school events aren't my thing, anyways."
and so, you had impulsively decided to go get ice cream with someone you barely knew, but felt like you had known for ages, at the same time. that was just how the atmosphere felt with childe. it was great, however, he definitely wasn't diluc.
"what happened back there was nuts.." childe muttered, his face then lighting up due to the joke he had made. he had ordered a strawberry sundae, topped with chocolate syrup and peanuts, "i didn't intend that joke, i swear—"
you snickered at the pun and then took a lick of your own ice cream; just a simple waffle bowl with three scoops of your favourite.
"yeah it was really uncalled for.. i feel.. bad for not having done anything to stop that stupid little ant boy.." you stated, now angrily shoving spoonfuls into your mouth. childe was quick to notice how your expressions had contorted whilst talking about what happened to diluc. he squinted.
"are you two like.. together..?"
"what!? no! he's just my roommate, jeez!" you exclaimed, smacking his arm, "you were literally there when xiao and i went on our date, why are you acting like you have memory loss!" you grumbled, pointing your spoon in his direction while he raised his hands in front of his face.
"i just forget, im sorry!"
you rolled your eyes.
"you're the second person to have assumed that diluc and i have something going on.."
