synopsis: you and your friends get food, but you end up running into an unexpected problem.

-

"kaeya, why the FUCK are we at mcdonalds right now?" the purple haired girl on your right scowled in anger, before glaring at your best friend who shrugged and then casually walked in  through the doors of the open restaurant. it was illuminated nicely, with snowflake decorations all over the place.

despite its pretty atmosphere, however, it seemed very chaotic, as well as noisy. to your left, there were children chucking fries at each other, and to your far right, stood a ball pit and play ground for the kids. great. this was exactly what you needed.

"hey, diona! give me my spiderman toy back!" a soft spoken child exclaimed, nearly tripping over her feet as she ran past you and childe who glanced around awkwardly.

ganyu pressed her lips into a thin line. she had to stay positive for you.

"so.. maybe we can uh.. um.. find a table far away from the kids so we aren't disturbed!" she suggested, tugging keqing along into the restaurant.

you scratched your head and followed your friends without a word. mcdonalds was unfortunately one of the only places that was near the college, and even closer to the bar that you worked at, as that was right across the street. speaking of, you had forgotten about it. you had to work a shift the next day.

just thinking about being anywhere near diluc after what had happened made you feel queasy. clearly, he hated you and you didn't blame him. you had acted like a fool, but you really didn't mean to do it on purpose. honestly, you didn't even know that diluc actually liked you back until he confirmed it for himself.

"ugh, i need a god damn happy meal." you muttered, rubbing your tired eyes. your nap hadn't helped at all.

kaeya nodded.

"sure, we'll get you anything you want. todays to cheer you up only." he stated, gently poking your face to make you look at him. you frowned, and then moved your face away from his finger.

"alright, less poking, more buying me food.." you snapped jokingly, also snapping your fingers at the two boys who immediately nodded and then raced into the short line of customers. keqing snickered at their reactions, and then glanced over at you.

"so, how's it going over there in yn land? are you feeling better yet?"

you sighed at your friends question.

"keqing.. it's not gonna take me a day to feel better.. especially when i admitted my feelings to diluc like.. YESTERDAY." you said, waving your hands to emphasise the fact that you and diluc had talked about your feelings towards each other just the night prior.

keqing's violet eyes widened.

"wait, seriously!? how did you manage to fuck it up that fast!" she exclaimed, making ganyu nudge her in the gut quickly.

"maybe diluc isn't the right one for you..?"

you groaned loudly.

"doubt it. i swear, i had a dream just a few days ago where a guy who looked a lot like jesus floated over to me while holding a framed picture of diluc. if that's not a sign, i don't know WHAT is... and im not even religious!"

the two girls exchanged bizarre looks with each other, while you frowned and dropped your forehead onto the table with a loud thud.

"ow.. i deserve that.." you mumbled, banging your head one more time, "ow, i deserve that too.."

while you continued to bang your head against the table, keqing noticed that a table of little girls were eating their food while staring at you oddly. ganyu smiled nervously and then poked your shoulder.
