You weren't feeling like yourself anymore, nothing brought you joy like they used to. The only thing was Karl.
He could make you smile even though you were depressed.
You didn't tell him of course, he wouldn't want to deal with it.
So that's what you decided, to keep it to yourself.

You had began to slowly but surely avoid everyone,
Moreau had a little place in hos reservoir he offered for you to stay in.
You would often return when Karl had fallen asleep, he slept like a rock so waking him up was a small chance.

This one night on the other hand. You found him sitting in a chair, waiting for you.
"Is everything okay Y/n?"

"What do you mean? I'm perfectly fine" you said, forcing a smile onto your face.

"You've been avoiding me, I can tell.
You've been avoiding everyone.
If something is going on, tell me" he stood up this time, to match height with you.

"No I haven't, I've been busy-"
"Doing what?"
"Helping Duke"
"That's a lie! I talked to him myself,
he hadn't seen you in forever"
You sighed and sat down on the sofa, placing your hands on your forhead as support.

"If something is wrong tell me, you don't smile like you used to" at that you stormed out of the room, afraid he would see your tears.
"Y/n!" He called after you but you didn't turn around.
If you would tell him he would probably reject you and send you away to live with Lady Dimitrescu.
He couldn't be bothered eith your problems.

You transformed into a great wolf and sprinted towards the woods, thanks to your black fur you basically disappeared in the night.
The snow crunched under your paws and the wind blew through your fur, making shivers run down your spine.
You had gotten into the woods deep enough to make the village not visible anymore, all you could see was trees.

You didn't slow down though. You kept running and running until suddenly, a sharp pain covered your back paw.
You fell down on the snow that hadn't been touched, you basically dissapeared in it.

You turned back into your human form and screamed in pain, hypervantilating you began to dug through the snow to see what caused the pain. Only to find a beartrap.
You didn't know some of the hunters ventured this deep,
animals were getting scarce so it was no surprise they had to go deeper.

The biting cold snow made your body go numb.
Wrapping the cloak closer around your body you managed to keep warm enough from freezing to death.

You tried many times to pry the beartrap off of your foot but it would dig deeper, making it even more painful.
You managed to move and shape the snow by a tree into a seat, you dragged yourself so you sat down and leaned against the tree.

"I guess this is how I die" you thought before closing your eyes.

Heisenberg had let you go, thinking you went inside your room in need of space.
He didn't expect you to dissapear.
He looked through every crevice of the factory and yet, no sign of you.

He had been searching for you for days but got no result, he had gone to Alcina in a desperate attempt to find you but even she hadn't seen you around.
The empty feeling grew bigger with each minute, where had you gone?

You had been sitting at the same spot for a few days now, your whole body was numb and you grew very weak thanks to the bloodloss.
Suddenly a roar could be heard in the distance, you didn't recognize it but you hoped it was a quicker death than what the cold could offer.
Whatever it was seemed to come closer, it had reached your field of view within seconds. A lycan.

When the lycan's eyes traveled to you it roared even louder, probably giving your location to others.
Multiple lycans did come but so did a man you didn't excpet to come, Karl.
He didn't speak, didn't show any emotions. He only pulled you into his arms.
His breath and body was shaky, you noticed one tear rolling down his cheek when he pulled away.

"Why?" Was all he asked, staring into your eyes, demanding for an answer.
"I don't want to bother you with my problems-"
"Don't be stupid, you can always come to me if there is a problem. Tell me, what is it?"
"I don't have the same joy as I used to, everything is bleak. I don't feel any hope for a bright future Karl. I feel numb" you managed to get out, tears staining your cheeks.

"Hey it's okay, in this village it's no surprise. I will bring you with me when this is all over, you'll get to see the world beyond. I want to see you happy because I love you"

"I love you too" you whispered, gazing into his eyes.

"When I say I love you I mean- I don't see you as a sister. Whatever Miranda says, she's not my family and neither are you. I want to protect you with everything I have. I want to make you mine. Do you love me the same way?"

You gasped in shock, you had always thought he had seen you as nothing more than a little sister. It pained you to think about it. But here he were, confessing his love fot you.
A genuine smile decoated your face for the first time in god knows how long.

"I feel the same" that was all he needed before he gently smashing his lips against yours. He suddenly leaned against the beartrap, makung you gasp in pain.

"Holy fuck I'm so sorry" he said when he noticed it, he immediately removed it with ease and bandaged it with a spare cloth he had.
"It's alright" you whinced, trying to not scream.
He then picked you up bridal style and carried you all the way back to the factory where he properly tented to your wound.

You were in pain but not psychical this time.
