ISABELLA'S POV
Ian was going back to work today which meant I'll be home alone with Indie all day. I'd like to say I'm confident in my abilities. I've got a million nieces and nephews but Ian keeps me sane. Sometimes Indie cries none stop for like an hour and it can be very overwhelming. Especially when you can't find what's wrong with her. Ian's always there to keep me calm assure me she's okay and babies do this. Though I'm not sure babies just scream for an hour for no apparent reason. I was worried she was going to do it whilst he was working and I wouldn't be able to catch a break like I normally would we do 15-minute intervals with her when she gets worked up like that. It's hard seeing your baby so distressed. I spoke with Nina about it and she said it's fine. That Darcy was the same. But if I recall correctly Darcy had colic. Indie doesn't. I've made an appointment with her doctor to check her over and make sure she's okay because I was worried about it. It just started happening so suddenly.
Ian was showering so I brought Indie downstairs with me whilst I made him breakfast so he didn't go to work hungry. But it's Ian so he'll still have his second breakfast at work no matter how much he eats at home. Paul asked me if I actually feed him once because he had a second breakfast every day for two weeks. I had Indie in her bouncer in the middle of the kitchen island whilst I stood at the stove making him some porridge. I also made him a salad for lunch because I always had to remind him when we were on set to eat something.
"Morning princess." Ian greeted our daughter as he came in. I concentrated on the porridge as his arms snaked around my waist. "Morning babe." He pecked my cheek still holding me tight. "Morning baby," I say back dishing up his food in a bowl. I sprinkle some fruit on top and move out of his embrace to get a spoon for him. "Breakfast." I place it in front of him. "Shall we get your breakfast ready my sweet girl?" I say to Indie she just looks back at me with her big blue eyes she so clearly got from Ian. "You're so beautiful," I tell her as she understood. I went to the prep machine and made her a bottle so it would be cool in time for when she started to fuss. "You sure you're going to be okay today?" He asked in between spoonfuls of food. "Yeah. I'm gonna try and get the bedsheets changed and washed whilst she takes her morning nap and then I'll take the dogs for a walk when Nina comes over so she can help." He nodded we had four dogs. Stitch, Pesto and Batman which we take out together and then Naz we take him on a shorter walk on our land. He was getting old now and his legs couldn't take the long walks to the park. "Sounds like you've got a plan." I nodded. "When you come in you can spend some time with her whilst I go to the stables to clean the horses out and put fresh hay out." "I can do that when I come in." He tells me. "You should spend time with Indie." "I'll do it before I leave." He had finished eating his food already. "You sure?" "Yeah, you don't need to be going out there after a long day." I smiled at him. I was thankful he offered. Having horses was easy when it was just us but it's hard fitting all the animals around Indies schedule. Especially because it's so hot out right now and I don't want her to overheat.
Ian left to do the horses in his little wellies. He looked adorable when he went out to them. Whilst he was doing that I fed the dogs whilst Indie was content in her bouncer. I fed her shortly after and then took her upstairs to get her changed and ready for the day. I was so thankful Nina was coming over today. I was really nervous about being alone with Indie. I know I'm capable. Ian isn't always around sometimes he's in the office. Or he's at the stables. But knowing he's home is comforting. I think I've developed a very unhealthy attachment to my husband. I guess that what you get when you marry someone you work with. I didn't want him to stay home I wanted him to feel able to go back to work. Or go out with his friends without having to worry about me and the baby. But I was second-guessing it. I wouldn't tell him that.
"Right babe I'm off." He kissed my cheek and then picked Indie up off the changing mat. She was only in a nappy. "Bye my beautiful princess. Daddy will be home soon. I promise." He tells her. "I love you." He kissed her before laying her back down. "I love you." He tells me hugging me tightly. "You're going to work not leaving for war." I joke with him. "V-wars. It's in the name babe." I laughed. "Your salad is in the fridge don't forget to take it. And don't forget to eat it. I don't want you staving all day long." "You made me lunch." He faked gushed. "I make you food every day," I tell him. "Can you pick up something g for dinner on your way home? We haven't been grocery shopping since the princess arrived...that's was like two months ago. We've been living off salads and take out." "Yes." We've been going to the farmers market so we had fresh produce but nothing substantial. Especially after he's been working all day. "Anything in particular?" "I don't mind you choose something." He pecked my lips. "I'm going to be late." He checked his watch. "Say bye to daddy. Indie." I tell her. She was just looking up at us.
