The Connection They Share

Chapter 6

"I never thought I'd be back here." Val says as the ship descends into the clouds. We emerge through the clouds and I see that Asgard was burning.
"I thought it'd be nicer. I mean, not that it's not nice. It's just, it's on fire." Bruce states as we glide over the main city. Val pulls up a map that had a red dot showing were the remaining civilians are, "Here, up here in the mountains. Heat signatures. People clustered together. Hela's coming for them." she points at the red dot. "Okay, drop me off at the palace and I'll draw her away." Thor orders as he looks out on the destruction.
"And get yourself killed?" I ask finally turning to face him.
"The people trapped down there are all that matters. While I'm dealing with Hela, I need you two to help get everyone off Asgard." Thor explains and I nod in understanding.
"How the hell are we supposed to do that?" Bruce questions.
"I have a man on the ground." Thor says without giving much away, "And someone is coming to help us, we just need to stall till he gets here" I reassure Bruce, they all look at me. "What? I can't tell you who because that would ruin the drama of the reveal." I say and Thor just gives me a weird look. I zone out and see the people of Asgard being lead out of their hiding place by Heimdall. I come back into focus and see Thor setting up a machine gun with the help of Val, "Heimdall is leading the civilians away from Hela" I notify Thor and he nods glad they are not going to be danger as of yet. "Now the ship has guns." Thor exclaims with a smile.
"I'll take it from here." Val says then Thor presents her with some type of armour, it must have been from when she was a Valkyrie. I steer the ship to a nearby balcony so Thor could get off, "'Your majesty.' Don't die. You know what I mean." Val calls out as we fly back towards the Bi-Frost bridge. As we go through the city, Val changed into her Asgardian armour and stood by the gun ready to fire. I stood up and handed the wheel to Bruce then tied my hair back in a plait. I was dropped off at the start of the bridge and I see Heimdall coming towards me. "Good to see you again, Lady Avery" Heimdall greeted as we walked across the bridge and I notice he was holding the sword. "I wish it could have been under better circumstances" I reply "Is this all that's left?"
"Unfortunately" he replies but pauses, I look where he is and see a giant black wolf guarding the entrance to the observatory. "Go back!" Heimdall shouts but are blocked by Skurge and what looks like Hela's army of the dead, the people are trapped. Come on Loki, hurry up. Whilst the remaining Asgardian warriors fought off Hela's army I summoned swords as the wolf charged towards us. The wolf is halted by Val shooting at it but that only served to make it angry and it ran even faster towards us. I held out my hand to stop the wolf but before I could, Bruce crashed onto the bridge, face first. The wolf sniffs him before continuing on but then it is dragged back and slammed away from us by the Hulk. Glad he turned up. The Hulk took the wolf by the jaws and they both fell into the water.

I block attacks from the skeleton army and slice through three at once, I take a breath before taking one out from behind then throw several off the bridge that had focused their attention on Heimdall. I cry out when they sliced my arm then push a small dagger through the one who cut me. I glance at the cut and see it had already begun healing itself. Whilst I was distracted a skeleton almost stabbed me but it was shot to pieces, I look up and see Korg standing over Heimdall. "Hey man. I'm Korg.   This is Miek. We're going to jump on that spaceship and get out of here. Want to come?" Korg greets and points to a ship that was shrouded by the smoke. Loki's here. I grin as the ship came into view and on the plank stood Loki with his arms outstretched and his new helmet on his head, his cape flaring out behind him. "Your saviour is here!" Loki shouts as he nears the bridge, the vessel docks and Loki moves through the crowd. "Did you miss me? Everybody on that ship, now" he orders and walks over to where me and Heimdall are waiting as the civilians rush onto the large ship.
"Welcome home. I saw you coming." Heimdall greets
"Of course you did." Loki states before giving me a grin, "I didn't let you down"
"No you didn't, you're just a bit late" I reply with a smile before getting out my staff, "Shall we?"
"We shall" Loki says before we both join back into the battle, me whipping at the army and slicing them to pieces.

I look up from stabbing a soldier when a lightning strike hit the palace, I see Loki have a proud smile on his face, Thor. A mob of skeleton soldiers go to meet Thor as he descends from the palace with a stream of lightning behind him. As he lands they are all thrown back because of his lightning then he spins taking more of the soldiers out, now he's just showing off. I notice Val had set off the fireworks on the ship she crashed and she seems to be enjoying herself as she cuts through the army. Loki knocks a skeleton on its back and I stab it before nicking his helmet to drive it through oncoming skeletons. "Give it back" Loki orders with his hand outstretched, I give it back and he spins it before we separate to make sure the dead army never reaches the vessel that was still being boarded.
