Capri was a mesmerizing young girl, her exact age being seventeen.

A delightful pleasure to the eyes of her fellow onlookers, who had no mercy on her age when they began their conquest.

She was a sight to see, leaving the others with the urge to run their fingers through her long black hair that cascaded into ocean waves.

Not falling behind, the desire to touch her tan skin that fell in contrast with her green like eyes.

Her grandmother called her unique and idiosyncratic for her ability to create such need in others.

She was a girl who always achieved what she set her eyes on, only needing to make use of her sweet innocent eyes and her pouting lip.

Enough to get her prey to succumb into her command.

Well that's what she radiated, innocence, she was quite the opposite from what she demonstrated.

In a slew of words you could describe her as sweet, manipulative, deviant and so on.

Capri didn't use her traits to be cruel, she only used it in times of need, unfortunately her times of need were too many to count.

It was the day of the funeral of her late father, the only man she could say she loved.

He was her confidant and best friend.

Woefully, Capri now found herself staring down at the casket that was being lowered six feet underground.

The people around her continued to cry, hugging her every chance they'd get, she could only keep her gaze forward as her facial expression was neutral, void of any emotion.

She listened to the condolences the guests gave her as they made their way around, her silence being enough of an answer as she was in no mood to respond.

"Mija".

Capri lazily looked over at the voice of her grandmother who's face contoured in pain and sadness, her eyes were red from crying.

Her abuela had been her caretaker when her father wasn't around, he was a man of business who traveled often for many weeks at a time, there was no motherly figure in her life apart from her.

She had never known her mother and now she had lost her father.

"Mija come say hello to someone important to your father please".

Capri followed her in silence, keeping her head down as she fidgeted with her fingers.

She had no energy to forger a smile to a stranger she had never heard of but from the tone of her grandmother, Capri knew the man was important.

Before any kind of introduction, a small sigh escaped her lips as two shiny dress shoes came into view.

Looking up her gaze locked onto the unknown man, this is who her grandmother spoke of?

"Hi Capri". He softly said.

She cleared her throat, tilting her head to the side as her eyes took in his figure.

"I apologize for meeting under these circumstances, your father was a very good friend of mine from a young age, he spoke very highly of you, I'm Mateo". His eyes softened as he spoke to her, reaching out his hand to be able to shake hers.

Capri had the urge to scoff at his words, almost rolling her eyes as his condolences became a repetition of what she had been hearing since the beginning of the funeral.
