Hitman

Capri was completely pulled out of school, Mateo using the excuse of a small vacation.

She had been stuck in the house for the past week with no sign of him and no sign of Tony, she was completely bored out of her mind.

Her words must've stung tremendously because even the guards were ignoring her.

She didn't mean what she said but she wasn't ready to take it back.

It was a Saturday and she found herself taking a small stroll in the huge backyard, one of the bodyguards trailing a few feet behind her.

"Do you know where Mateo is"? She asked innocently.

The bodyguard stayed silent.

Capri scoffed before making her way inside, stopping at the entrance of the kitchen when she spotted Loretta having a snack.

"Hi". She squeaked.

"Capri". She smiled, tapping the seat next to her.

"How are you feeling"?

"Bummed out". She huffed as she slumped her shoulders.

"There are secrets in this house Loretta and I think it has something to do with my dad as well". She admitted, finally letting her thoughts come to light.

Loretta hummed at her words as she took another spoonful of her yogurt.

"Some things are better left unsaid". Loretta spoke, her Italian accent seeping through.

"Well secrets don't go well with sneaky people who go into offices to snoop and then find things out the wrong way".

Capri shrugged nonchalantly a small smirk etched on her face as Loretta snapped her gaze towards her.

"Do not do such thing Capri, it is dangerous". She sternly said a serious expression plastered on her face.

She shrugged once again.

"Mateo I need to speak with you"!

Capri ran down the stairs when she heard the front door slam, she had been waiting for his arrival.

"Not now Capri". He mumbled as he made his way into the kitchen.

"I need to know what the fuck is going on and why dad left me with you out of all people, I don't know you, I don't know anything about you actually. I'm living with a complete stranger"! She barked, not caring that everyone was now staring at her.

Mateo stopped in his tracks as he turned around to look at her with a cold expression.

"I have a right to know". She added in.

Mateo kept his gaze on her for a few more seconds before turning back around as he walked away.

"Okay, my birthday is in less than a month, I'll be gone by then and if you even try to stop me I'll call the police and tell them I'm being kidnapped"! She turned around and walked off in the direction of her bedroom, not caring anymore at this point.

Before she had the chance to reach it though she felt herself being tugged back by the arm as Mateo dragged her into his office, quickly slamming the door behind him and locking both of them in.

"I'm sick of your shit Capri, you wanna know the truth, I'll tell you! Your father was in dirty business just like the rest of us, he was a hitman for the Russo crime family and he had asked me to take care of you when he realized his cancer wasn't gonna do shit but eat him alive! A man like himself racked up too many enemies and I was the only one who could protect you so I said yes to what he asked from me but if I knew you'd be more trouble than good I would've let your ass rot all alone"!
