"I want a double chest X-ray stat!" screamed Luke.
The portable X-ray machine was brought in and we were removed.
Liam walked over to Luke. I was shocked. They despise each other.
I slowly walked over to them. "What do you think it could be?"
Both of them were talking as if they weren't enemies. As if they were just two regular guys trying to find a solution. Hmm...interesting.
I listened to them.
"Shes only had a fever for a few days and no prior chest pain- so no myocarditis." said Luke.
Liam nodded in agreement. "No complains of any trouble breathing either." said Liam
"Oxygen saturation seems normal."
"Blood test shows elevated white blood cell count."
The look at each other.
"Pneumonia" they both say at the same time.
They both walk back in and look at the X-rays.
They both looked at each other and smiled. Bingo.
They turned to me. "She has double sided pneumonia." As a result, she will be on a series of medication to help it. Since she has a prior history of asthma, she'll have to be on the nebulizer for a couple of hours a day." Luke explained carefully.
I looked to her. My poor baby.
Calum came back in with all her medications. As she was unhooked from everything, Liam gently went and picked her up to carry her to the car. Luke followed us.
As he buckled her in, he said he'd meet us at our house. So I left. But not without seeing him & Luke talk from my rearview mirror.

I looked to Luke. Thank you for today. It means a lot."
"Stop- we both solved it." he said.

Luke spoke first. "Today reminded me of the old days. When we used to solve cases left and right, that our attending got fed up of us." He laughed out.
"Haha yeah." I laughed at the fond memory.
"We used to be unstoppable." I said.
"Things have definitely changed."
"Yeah you're right." I nodded.
" But If you're willing to move forward, I am too." He said solemnly.
