It didn't take long for Y/n to fall asleep after Yukichi and her house guests left her and Osamu alone. He decided it was time to shape up, be a good and responsible lover, and try to get Y/n to fall back asleep. He began to comb his fingers through her hair while telling her stories of his past. He noticed that she always liked to hear stories about his past specifically she liked to hear about how he would prank Chuuya and Kunikida. So whilst he combed through her hair he told her stories of his past pranks on his partners.

She was asleep before he could finish telling her about his favorite prank when he put mice in Kunikida's locker for a week until the man camped out at the office all night long trying to catch the culprit.  "You know, to this day, Kunikida never did find out it was Me, the sly and ever so handsome Osamu Dazai. And, Ranpo refused to waste his talents to find out who did it when Kunikida asked him to. But, I'll have to tell you that again when you wake up tomorrow, mon cheri."

Dazai looked down at the sleeping woman who was now snuggled into his side as she slept peacefully. He held a piece of her hair between his bandaged fingertips before his attention was drawn to the stairway that connects her loft to the living area below. Though it was mostly dark in the woman's apartment now that all the guests had wound down, Dazai could make out a shadow in the light coming from the kitchen area that was accompanied by the quiet clattering of a porcelain pot.

Knowing who it was making tea in Y/n's kitchen at this hour in the night, Dazai gently moved his arm from underneath the woman's head being careful to not wake her. After all, she needed all the sleep she can get because she had a bad habit of sacrificing that precious sleep to help others... in other words to help the Agency.

Once removed from her, he snuck down the stairs and coughed to alert the President of his presence so as to not get a sword held to his throat when he got too close.

Yukichi turned to the new arrival in the kitchen and nodded in greeting before he asked, "I take it she's asleep now?"

Dazai hummed in confirmation before he took a seat at the kitchen bar and said, "She said she used a code today for the first time in a while. It sucked her energy dry and now she's exhausted regardless of Dr. Yosasno's ability healing her broken leg and arm. It seems the Doctor's ability to heal deadly injuries doesn't roll over to Y/n's exhaustion."

The President had finished the tea by then and he reached into a cupboard nearby to grab two teacups. Intrigued by Dazai's words though, the President asked, "Which code did she use?"

Dazai smiled softly to the President before he said, "One of her so-called "evil" codes. The space-eating code, Malware."

The President's eyes widened before he justly asked, "Did she really? I thought she was scared to death of using that code. Do you happen to know what changed?"

Dazai shrugged his shoulders before he said, "She has more confidence in her abilities now. I'm sure she knows she controls the code and the extent to which it will affect the environment. At least, I think she understands that now."

Yukichi turned around and placed a steaming cup of green tea in front of Dazai before he said, "I think more that has changed. Are you serious about her, Dazai?"

Dazai began twiddling with the rim of the cup before for a few moments before he finally asked, "You know, I'm more of a whiskey guy--" He stood from the stool and walked over to Y/n refrigerator. He opened one of the drawers and grabbed a bottle of half full of the caramel liquid before he grabbed a small glass and sat back on the stool.

All the while, Yukichi stood idly drinking from his teacup while he waited for an answer to his question. After Dazai took a sip from his fresh cup of whiskey, he flicked the glass before he said, "To be honest, I'm terrified. I always lose the things I hold closest to me. First Ango betrayed the Port Mafia, but I knew that was going to happen. Then Oda-- now, I'm afraid of something happening to her, and it terrifies me."

The President closed his eyes and nodded before he said, "I understand what you're saying, and--" A soft smile could be seen above the rip of his teacup before the President took a sip and finished his sentence, "--And I'm glad you feel that way."

Dazai chuckled out before slumping onto the counter and saying, "And here I thought you were about to ask me about my plans for a counterattack. I was not expecting to be interviewed by the father of the woman I'm dating."

The President took another sip from his tea before he said, "Actually, that was my next question. Brief me on the events of today. I'm sure Y/n has already given you a rundown of the events that lead up to her and the office staff almost being captured. I'd also like a report on your team's mission to intercept Naomi and Ms. Haruno at the station. I heard there was an encounter with the Port Mafia, but I haven't received a briefing on it yet."

Dazai was slowly nursing his drink as he told the President all about the events of today.

He told the President about Y/n discovering the safehouse's security systems were sabotaged.

He told the President about the details of the fight that he got from Y/n while she was still awake and her unfortunate injuries that were now healed.

He told the President about the encounter with Q at the train station.

He told the President every detail he knew.

By the end of the briefing, The President was scowling to himself as he said, "What is Mori thinking?"

Dazai was refilling his third glass of whiskey by this time, and he simply said, "I don't know what exactly Mori is planning, but I know anytime Q is involved a lot of people are going to die."

"Yes, not to mention they could have wiped out our backup base earlier when Nakahara showed up, but they sent him as only a messenger to warn of us their plot to leak the location of our office staff."

For the next half hour, the pair rattled out theories and ideas to one another before Dazai said, "I may not know Mori's plan right now, but without more information on the Guild's reason for being here, we can't proceed any further."

Dazai stood from the stool before sliding his phone out of his pocket and unlocking the device. The President nodded in agreement before he said, "Yes, we'll discuss this tomorrow morning with everyone. For now, let's get some rest, we will surely need it."

Dazai pressed a few buttons on his phone before he said, "I'll head in soon, I have to call in a favor real quick. Good night, President."

"Same to you, good night."

the older gentleman walked down the small hallways to the left of the living area and towards the spare bedrooms, Y/n had in her sprawling apartment. Honestly, she didn't know enough people personally to have so many spare bedrooms and futons...

Dazai dialed a number n his phone before bringing it to his ear and letting it ring. After a few rings, the phone went to voicemail and he said with a smirk on his face, "Meet me tomorrow morning, 8 AM, in the parking garage we used to do business in. I need information, and you're going to give it to me. See you tomorrow, Ango."

Dazai locked his phone again before he set his bottle back in the refrigerator and set his glass in the sink.

He walked back up the stairs and gently slipped his arm underneath Y/n's sleeping head once again before pulling her closer to him by her waist. He rested his chin atop her head before he mumbled out, "I promise I won't let you get hurt again."

HE felt two arms snake around his own waist before he face was nuzzled into his chest and she mumbled back, "I promise I won't let you get hurt either."

A soft chuckle escaped his lips before he said, "Good night, mon amour."

Y/n mumbled back to him, "G'night, you dummy."
