(Y/n) just wanted to live a peaceful life. Ever since an incident in her past, she herself scarred more than one way. But, with the help of a certain President at the Armed Detective Agency, she was able to get herself back on her feet.
When she...
Y/n POV: I woke up to an unfamiliar feeling tapping on my stomach, but there was a familiar pain in my forehead. The pain was the product of overusing my ability, and the weight on my waist was from someone trying to wake me up.
I turned onto my side and I saw someone I didn't think I would see anytime soon. He was sitting seiza beside me, but he had his hand on my stomach with a nervous frown on his face as he gently woke me up.
His white choppy bangs covered his nervous yellow and purple eyes, but the welcoming smile I gave him made the nervousness disappear from his features.
"Um, sorry to wake you, Y/n-san, umm— but I just wanted to tell you... that I'm home..."
I pushed through the sleep that rattled my body, there must have been some allergy medicine in the (favorite drink) that Naomi gave me when I woke up earlier... Regardless, I pushed through the tiredness and reached up to bring the tiger boy into a hug as I said, "Welcome Home, Atsushi."
I could feel him begin to choke up as j held him and he said, "I-I'm sorry! K-Kyoka— she protected me but the special operations—they took her!"
I could feel my heart crumble at his words, but I also felt at peace for some reason. I pulled the boy from my hug and made him stare into my eyes as I said, "Why are you apologizing? I'm the one that said I would protect both of you, I'm the one who should apologize. I'm just glad you're back and safe."
My eyes scanned up and down his body-- his clothes were tattered, and there was evidence of him being shot. Three bullet holes were scattered across his clothes. I couldn't help but laugh as I stared at him, some tears of relief forming in my eyes as I jokingly said, "Well, safe-ish. Go ahead and take a shower in the bathroom up here and I'll leave some clothes in there for you. Can you sleep on the couch tonight? Haruna and Naomi are borrowing the extra futons, and Dazai is taking the spare up here--"
At the mention of Dazai, Atsushi's eyes widened slightly before he told me, "Oh, but he's not here. He had to go on a special mission from the President. Something about recovering a letter?"
My eyes widened, the drowsiness originally barraging my system disappearing altogether as I asked, "Was that letter a written letter, like evidence, or a letter of the alphabet?"
"Atsushi thought about it for a second as he said, "A letter of the alphabet, but I don't remember which--"
"Q?"
"Yeah, that was it! So, you already know about the mission?"
I stood from my futon and marched downstairs, saying good evening to the two ladies who were laying on my couch in front of the TV with a bowl of ice cream in their hands. I marched down the hall to my office, and sat at my computer chair before I put on my headset and said, "Database, connect me to Osamu."

The familiar blue glow of database flashed to life around the room and an image of Dazai with a connecting bar appeared on the screen. I couldn't help but snicker at the goofy photo of his mugshot being his contact photo. (cover photo for chapter if you want to see it)
