Dazai lead her to her apartment as she weakly stumbled beside him, clearly the alcohol was winning in her battle against it. His arm wrapped around her waist to steady her, and his other holding her arm in place over his shoulders.
That was the last thing she remembered from last night.
Her eyes opened to the mid-afternoon sun shining in through her bedroom windows and into her eyes. She groaned and turned onto her side before covering her head with her blanket.
"Why do you have to be so bright... Mr. Sun..."
She wasn't expecting an answer, but she received one from the silence of her room. "Because you slept in until 1:30, despite the countless calls I made to both you and Dazai. Care to explain what happened last night, (Y/n)?"
She groaned and pointed in the direction of the only other person to have a key to her apartment while saying, "I will tell you if you close the blinds, and bring me some ibuprofen... and some water.... and maybe breakfast... oh and--"
"I got it, just wait here and focus on waking up."
She heard Yukichi's socks shuffling down the stairs to her loft before the light coming from outside of her blanket dimmed.
He came back a few minutes later with a cup of water, two small red-orange pills, and some (Favorite fruit) in a small bowl from her kitchen.
He sat seiza next to her futon and said, "Now, explain your lack of a shower and your tardiness. Your state is deplorable."
She groaned and said, "We went out for a dinner, you know the usual... But I think I drank too much because I don't remember anything but him walking me home."
"What time did you get home?"
"I don't know. I think we finished eating at like 1 AM? At least I remember seeing that on a clock at the bar at some time."
"And what time did you go to sleep?"
She furrowed her brows and shut them before scratching her head in frustration and saying, "I'm hungover and I can't think straight like this, but I'm curious about something."
The man tilted his head slightly as if for her to finish her query.
"Why you're asking me all of this when this literally happened the other day. We got drunk, and I didn't call out then. What's actually going on, Yukichi."
The president took a sip of some tea he had made while waiting for her to wake up before he said, "A train the boy and Yosano were on was targeted by the Port Mafia just a few hours ago. Some passengers were-- some passed away due to an explosion."
If she wasn't already uncomfortable with the headache she had before, she was now after she heard that. She quickly leaned closer to the man before exclaiming, "WHAT?! How-- When?! A-Are they okay?!"
The man held up a hand and set it on her shoulder before pushing her back down into a sitting position on the bed. "They're fine, he brought back a young girl as well. It seems the Mafia took advantage of her and her ability to make her into quite the capable assassin. The boy seems to have taken her side, though she--"
"What's her body count?"
He was used to her cutting him off so he sighed and said, "I believe it is 35."
"Then she can't be turned over to the police, she'll be killed."
"It is not our place to interfere. She is a killer wanted by the military police now."
