A/N: This is a discrepancy from the Manga. In the manga the azure messenger arc did not have Atsushi in it because it was actually Dazai's entrance exam and his first mission with Kunikida! So, if you read the manga and didn't watch the show, just know it will be different since I'm writing following the show! :)
Approximately a week had passed since that night.
In those seven days that had passed, hell had broken loose in the Agency. (Y/n) had left Atsushi in the capable hands of Kunikida and Dazai as they worked on their latest case. At least she thought they were capable hands... It seemed if she wanted a job done right, she would have to do it herself.
(Y/n) had taken the time she would have been guarding Atsushi to go to the local library to search through old newspapers and articles to find any information on the mafia. It was now day four at the local library, and she had only filtered through about half of the papers that even seemed related to Mafia.
While ignorantly and blissfully reading her life away at the library, she'd been out of loop of a current job that Atushi, Dazai, and Kunikida were working on. She had her phone on silent as she happily read. It wasn't until a few hours later that she noticed she had missed calls and messages on her phone.
She was informed that a mysterious criminal group was planning to detonate a bomb in the city, and that its sole purpose was to deface the Agency. She'd learned that there were speculations of this being the work of late Azure King as well, some believing the man to still be alive. The Azure King was a terrorist who targeted corporations and government offices that were corrupt, but Kunikida was the one who helped end his reign of terror.
But she didn't buy that he was still alive, forensics teams verified his body after all.
She had begun looking at reports and past incidents involving the late terrorist to find any other leads until Ranpo could be reached, he was on a case in Kyoto and was unreachable. But, she knew that as soon he was reached, the Agency would be able to find all the information they needed in just a few seconds.
Her eyes were beginning to strain as she read what was probably her fiftieth newspaper on the late terrorist. She was entering hour eight at the library, which also happened to be hour three of the time she spent looking into the Azure King. For three hours since she had read her phone, all she did was read, read, read.
"God... please kill me before I read another newspaper... or at least give me an excuse to take a break---"
It was well into the night now and she was almost the only parton left in the large library. She'd heard no updates from Dazai and she was growing anxious... according to him, the bomb was set to go off at dawn and she'd only been able to find out more about the Azure King's connections and a very VERY detailed backstory.

She quickly fished her phone from her pocket to shut off it's ringing before whisper-yelling into the device, "What's the news, Dazai."
"Hello, (Y/n)! I'm sending over the location of the bomb. Please head over here as quickly as possible. You've got a certain code that I could use right about now! Bye~"
The line went dead and she cursed under her breath as she grabbed her coat from the back of her chair. She slipped the black trenchcoat over her shoulders and began to shove all of her items into her bag.
She ran through the streets to get to the location he'd sent to her phone. She got there in just fifteen minutes, probably a new record for her seeing as she wasn't in the prime of her physical fitness at that moment.
